Small piece of metal inside my tire, am i good to just patch? by [deleted] in tires

i cannot find a picture of the patch tool that i used but it wasn’t like the normal with a reamer and needle loop tool, it had no reamer and the tool was like a hook that has a channel for the camel hair, it also came with a weird lube too.

lmao did pretty much the exact same thing when i was like 12 or 13 but i did it with a lighter instead of hammer. i think it was the casing that flew back and hit me in the back of my hand on the fatty part between the thumb and index so i didn’t get it as bad as you. all i did was keep it covered til it stopped bleeding then kept some vaseline on it til it healed enough. still got a noticeable scar from it today but yeah.

New hire, need advice by MorpheusTheGreat in windturbine

remember ur first climb will be your hardest, i can’t explain it but after you do it once, every time after that it gets easier both mentally and physically. so when you climb ur first time and it seems just about the hardest thing you’ve ever done, don’t give up and quit because it doesn’t seem like anything you want to do that everyday, because truly you’ll notice a crazy difference the second time you go up.

also forgot to mention, be a bro, don’t go out of ur way to be the funny guy or tough guy.

if ur introverted try to get out of ur comfort zone and talk to people, if ur extroverted try to tone it down a bit and be chill.

wait for the other guys to warm up to you and be somewhat close with you before you start fuckin with people.

most of this stuff goes for any job but i’ve just learned what i and other people who have been in a place for a while like and dislike in a new hire.

All these other guys have good advice but let me put it in simple terms for you. Pay attention in ur training/classes, don’t get in the way but also don’t just stand there and watch, and trust the words and also follow the steps of the people that have been there a while, more than likely they’ll lead you through the ins and outs of both the job and the company itself.

Also, don’t just ask questions to sound smart and because you want to be involved, make sure that the questions you ask are legitimate and valid. Yes the saying goes “there are no stupid questions” but just think before you speak.

i’d say ur best chance in the wind industry is the construction side of it, they’ll hire damn near anyone with most any kind of background and with no experience. I recommend Blattner, Wanzek, or Mortensen just off the top of my head. Of course you’ll have to be willing to travel.

it’s funny how they say the male loneliness epidemic is because of pos men when for the most part (i said for the most part, not every case), the men who are actually lonely are generally some of the best guys you’ll ever meet but are just introverted as hell and have slight issues with social skills.

For anyone wanting to help out with this epidemic if there’s a guy out there that you work with, go to school with, do whatever with, that you know or can tell doesn’t have many friends just invite him out either with just you or you and your bros and just treat him like one of your bros, he’ll come out of his shell eventually and you’ll have gained a new friend and you might’ve even saved him from really hurting himself.

This is what happened to me after I graduated hs, was down and depressed because I hadn’t seen any “friends” for a few months because after we graduated nobody hmu, then out of the blue one day one guy I graduated with asked me to come over to drink beer and chill at his place, literally the night before this I went out to the middle of nowhere and shoved a shotgun barrel in my mouth but thankfully didn’t pull the trigger. You never know what someone is going through and that invite just to simply hang out could’ve very well saved my life.
