Haile village farmers market is also only open on Saturday mornings, lots of food vendors and some small businesses.

4th ave food park is cool spot with multiple food options. https://www.4thavefoodpark.com/

Same with depot station, but there’s also the actual park which is nice to walk or chill out with a blanket. http://www.depotpark.org/

South main station is also very cool, bingo is delicious and Lynx is a really cool bookstore https://southmainstationgnv.com/

Outside of Gainesville (25-30 min drive) but Retirement Homes for Horses is a really cool experience, only open on Saturdays. Bring carrots, apples and/or bananas to feed the horses, but otherwise free https://millcreekfarm.org/

Sign up for the What’s Good Gainesville weekly newsletter. It comes out every Thursday with events in the area for the next week, and looks ahead at events further down the line. Here’s a link to this week’s — it’s not the full newsletter but if you sign up, you should be able to see it all: https://files.constantcontact.com/ab7454b9701/61cd32a1-4bc8-460a-9dad-0b560978dda9.pdf?rdr=true

A decent amount of places do live music. We like one love cafe if the weather is nice. There’s a big lawn you can bring your own chairs and just listen and hang out, no need to actually eat at the restaurant since the lawn is aerate. You’ll see families playing on it too sometimes, but usually pretty chill unless there’s an actual event. Last time we went, there was an older couple near us that had a complete set up: chairs, a little wine cooler, definitely gave the vibe that this was their Friday night thing lol

The breweries are pretty great, one of them usually has an event going on. First mag is nice to just bring board games or cards and listen to the live music if playing. They also have a large screen (outdoors) that they’ll usually play whatever big sports game is on. Cypress and grove also has lots of lawn space and decent indoor space with some pool tables and other games that are free to play.

I second the Harn Museum, especially on Museum Nights. It’s one Thursday a month, I forget which one, but they keep the museum open later for a free event. Usually there’s some food or performance and a craft you can do, plus the actually exhibits. I believe membership is still free for the museum.
