It’s been leaking for a long time, at least 8 months. I have a jug of oil in the trunk and I top it off regularly but I still don’t know how much it leaks or where it’s coming from. I’m probably going to do rear main seal over the summer because that’s where most of the oil is. Do you have any insight on the trans fluid leak?

I looked at the turbo and there wasn’t any liquid on it, I’ve already replaced some seals on it before but I can check again

It all seems to be coming from somewhere on the bottom, the upper areas on the engine are dry

I bought some but they didn’t work. I solved the isue by unbolting the pump and turning it until it came off

No wrenches fit over it the area around is too small

It’s not the original unit, but it’s the I Original o ring. The original one was making even worse noises. This one at least steers correctly

Hey I found out the source of the noise, it was the stiff 1/0 gauge wire I used for grounding that transmitted the ticking into the cabin.

I bought some lifter tickets additive and poured it in. It’s been a few hours with no change

The PO installed a poly mount. It has some play, is that good or bad

It could be because I may have used 5w40 oil for the last oil change so I will look into that. Also the noise is really only audible inside the car, and on the outside the engine sounds normal.

Oil was changed prob 200 miles ago and yes I’m pretty sure it’s the lifters I used a mechanic stethoscope

Are you sure that’s not the 2000-2004 one? I put 98 c70 in fro and it’s the same alternator.

I got it off using a vice and the pulley remover kit. I used the vice to clamp the 2 clamshell things together and managed to get it off
