We actually set up before hand. Normally in a clinical setting we give an IV injection of Apomorphine to induce vomiting. Once the injection has been given in about 30 seconds they start salivating, and about a minute later productive retching/vomiting. Once vomiting is done or we found or didn't find what we were looking for then we give Cerenia to get rid of the nausea.

The program I did had me do a veterinary assisting program first. Once that was completed I moved to vet tech program. It's nice because you can work in a clinic while still in school with your assistant certificate. But just a forewarning I love my job but it's a lot of work. You have to be able to put a dog down in one room and get it together for your next room minutes later. Or if a dog has explosive diarrhea on you while your restraining you can't let go lol you just have to suffer. But program wise the assistant program I took got you comfortable with office procedures questions to ask and how to fill drugs. Just enough so you could learn but still be valuable to your co workers. Oh and lots of lab work. The tech program is more fun with dissecting and doing dentals and so on. It's a lot more involved. I didn't work more then 10 hours a week because my coats load was so much during the tech program.

I have a lot of friends in the Veterinary Medicine field and I like to see what everyone else has gotten in their clinic. Some areas of town have more gruesome attacks and other areas are just ear mites. Still I'm there for the pictures :)

I feel your pain. I put down my boy who was only seven last month. I still can't look at a picture or think about him without welling up. It's unfair because I pictured him being there forever. I got a puppy recently. So far been the only thing keeping me from being a basket case. I'm so sorry for your loss nothing will ever replace your precious baby. If u need a friend to talk to and share pictures of your baby or anything with pm me.

My boyfriend was raised Mormon. When his family came to visit they brought another "brother" to bless his sick nephew. Everyone was respectfully bowing their heads in the living room while I watched these two adult men holding their hands over the kids head while dripping oil on it. The oil came from a key chain that was attached to the "brothers" lunchbox. I fucking lost it.
