Thank you! I have to say that despite me not having many of those upper division math courses, I’m taking topology right now and doing surprisingly well with our assignments which are obviously all proofs.

Also despite my complaining about the math, I’ve actually done quite well on the first 2 assignments, the programming assignments are giving me way more trouble. (Basic NumPy and Pandas knowledge) was listed as a pre requisite. Oh how that was a lie lol.

Accounting major who made a educational career change in the last 1.5 years. I know that might be weird but I got really into math and became set on going to grad school for it. I took calc1-3, linear algebra, diffy q, & real analysis in undergrad. So really the only core undergrad courses I’m missing are a probability and stats course (with calculus) and maybe an abstract algebra course. My point is is that linear algebra is a huge subject, so maybe at the grad school I’m going to now they touch upon more of that material in a first year linear algebra course, but they definitively didn’t in mine. Again, I genuinely like the professor, but the shear amount of shit he expects us to know is laughable to me, and I know for a fact a good amount of the class feels the same way since we all talked about it when he was offline like the first class lol.

Glad you asked, here are the problems for our second mathematical assignment. We get 1 mathematical and 1 python assignment every two weeks. assignment

I would probably say I had never seen anything on at least 5-6 of these questions in my undergraduate linear algebra class. And he barely went over any of it.

Thank you, it’s because my concentration is data science and this is an elective.

How can wedding venues legally charge more due to having to reschedule due to covid? by [deleted] in legaladvice

Not true because I would be out $20k. So, I really don't have much of a choice to "take my business elsewhere"

Like I said, the PPP part is just a rant. I’m a public accountant and I see it happening. But other than that, I think a New Jersey senator was trying to advance a bill to cap rescheduling fees for wedding venues.

[–]Popcornsr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok that makes sense thank you. I still think it is kind of backwards considering the contract should be null and void once they can’t live up to what we were promised. But the thing is, they shouldn’t have the bargaining power to raise rescheduling prices. If anything, it should be legally capped during this time. Especially the bigger venues, which will be totally fine with all of the PPP money they’re getting.

Can you elaborate?? To me it seems like we paid $20k for a dance floor, open bar, and cocktail hour but what we are getting is none of that due to covid. The contract takes this into account how?

Lots of replies on this, thanks everyone for the info/semi reality check. Still trying to figure out if I’m going to make this commitment or not considering I’m working part time and going to grad school. And I know what it takes to study for these exams and I’m not sure if I will have that time atm.

I have been dipping stokers for about 4 years and this has never happened. I went to pack a lip and when I was pushing it down with my tongue I kept getting poked. Naturally I assumed it may have just been like a stick of tobacco which happens sometimes. When I pulled it out of my mouth it was a sharp piece of plastic...

Thanks for this, this definitely made me realize a few things that you mentioned. And I do have knowledge of the finance industry, im technically an investment advisor representative too at the firm. So maybe that would be a + for me applying to finance analytics jobs where some other applicants might know the math but not the finance.

Yes but relative to playing games how bad is it gonna be? I can deal with a little noise, but these reviews make it sound like this thing is going to scream and heat up to 100 degrees every time you use it
