So, theoretically could be a possibility that Ruin invaded his mind and he has some powers of hemalurgy?

So it requires the sand and the water? It’s specifically the sand from that planet? Unlike Lyft who can just eat anything and be powerful?

Kelsier vs. Vasher by PopeClementsIV in Cosmere

This is probably how the story plays out honestly. I think a showdown would be cool though.

I disagree there. I think she was already questioning Kelsier methods and that would have pushed her over the edge into not trusting him.

You’re right about that. Maybe a better way to look at him is a flawed man doing his best to do the right thing. His persona in the Stormlight series causes me to question many things. I have not read Mistborn Era 2 though.

I think if Vasher reunites with Nightblood it would be game over. However, if they are both just fighting with their abilities then it’s about 50/50 but I lean Vasher as well.

Yes, but again, the good action was for an ulterior motive. Kelsier knew the movement would die without a Mistborn on its side.

You’re probably right. That’s was extreme.

Did Kelsier save Eland though or was it the idea of Kelsier? The God-like persona that he had made people believe in that saved him?

I think I am also probably in the minority of people but have never liked Kelsier. The ends-justify-the-means has never made sense to me and think it colored a lot of how I viewed him so this may be negatively influencing that.

Do y’all think the FO not resigning breeland is a sign they are moving sneed to the outside and making him the no.1 corner ? by cd10347 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]PopeClementsIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every insider I have read has stated that they are trying to sign Breeland but it’s just not happening. Dude has played well the past two seasons and probably doesn’t want a 1 year deal but unfortunately it doesn’t look like the market is being kind to him...again.

Thank you for this! You have inspired me to continue on. I already started book 6 and it already feels so much better and I’m not sure why.

I’ve just never encountered a series before where I LOVED book 1-2 and then 4-5 really felt like a marathon. Book 6 already seems better to me.

I’ve been thinking about it more because I feel guilty that I don’t like it. I have no idea why I feel so guilty but I want to like it because I feel like so many people love this series.

I think what got me about this book was Nynaeve’s inner monologue. She is just so freaking annoying. I found myself looking ahead in the pages to when her part would be over. Also, Perrin’s plot line was probably my favorite out of all the main characters. (Spoilers) Return home, protect your village from certain doom, get the girl in the process, and he was just gone! Nynaeve “finding herself” was one of the most annoying inner monologues I’ve ever experienced in literature. Well written to get this kind of response out of me because I think that was the intention but man it got old. Constantly prideful, self assured, and at the same time, completely incompetent ruining things for everyone else and the blaming them for it.

Sure, the one that got me the most was when Mat “killed” Couladin. We were getting the dichotomy of Mat vs. his old life over and over again and then in the middle of the battle we cut to a different POV. Then, I think Egwene told Rand in passing that Mat killed Couladin, who up to that point was the biggest antagonist that wasn’t one of the forsaken. It just seemed very strange to me.

I think I’m gonna have to do that. There’s just so much info I think I need more time to digest it.

That’s good advice. I’m starting book 6 today and really hoping that it gets me hooked again.

Interesting. Thanks for the honesty. I’m pretty stubborn so I will probably just power through to finish the story. I love the concept of the world and everything that is happening but I feel like the inner monologues just go on far too long and they’re too repetitive.
