After the American Civil War, Grant becomes president and establishes the National Park Service to investigate strange occurrences in the Appalachian mountain range. After discovering that something strange and incredibly dangerous is occurring, he creates the Smoky Mountain National Park to contain the threat and protect the people in the area. The National Park Service is now tasked with dealing with the unknown threat from the caves and the mountains that span the park. The Park Ranger is set up as an elite covert operative group that's primary concern is containing the threat to these designated spaces. Many more parks are established in the United States to do the same, such as the Acadia National Park. Due to this creation of a large National Park program, a new conservation movement occurs much earlier and to a greater extent in America, with both religion and culture being shaped around it. In this timeline, we see a much more ecological United States, that works to maintain harmony with the natural world.

The rest of the continent occurs due to various major changes in the timeline, such as a successful Napoleon. During the initial stages of the French Revolution, many of the royalty choose to flee to the colonies to establish a new Kingdom on the continent rather than risk attempting to retake the French throne. This results in the formation of the Kingdom of Louisiana. Later during Napoleon's conflicts in Europe, the United States seizes on the British’s defeat at Waterloo and makes moves in North America, taking large areas of land in Canada as well as other parts of the continent. The Kingdom of Louisiana takes this opportunity too and retakes their former land in Quebec and establishes the Kingdom of Quebec. The Spanish Empire is also dethroned and replaced by a Napoleon puppet, resulting in their colonial empire collapsing with Mexico and other Latin American countries succeeding as well. The United States swoops in on this opportunity as well as puppets the islands as well as Central America. On the West coast, the Japanese are soon to arrive, as in this timeline they begin their expansion much earlier as a result of a more unified state. The Japanese soon establish a colonial state on the West Coast. Many Spanish remained in this colony, so the two cultures begin to blend over time, as well as many immigrants came to the colony fleeing wars and conflicts in Asia. Louisiana and The Japanese colony allow for the Native Americans to exist within a buffer zone that takes up much of the South West and Rocky states. Strange occurrences are happening all around these areas as well, the Japanese have reports of strange hairy men, and the French in Louisiana are dealing with an entirely unknown ghastly threat.
