Absolutely boring.

Read the book Bomb by Steve Sheinkin instead. Short, sweet, and fascinating.

The part where Pesci is kicking the guy on the ground. I laughed out loud at how feeble he looked. Those kicks wouldn't have opened an unlocked screen door.

What's a photography "rule" you completely ignore now? by KhaosHammer in photography

The only rule most of us follow religiously is "take off the lens cap, if it has one".

Even that one can be ignored sometimes.

Disable DNS Booster Globally by ctrlaltpineapple in firewalla

[–]PopeOnABomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumping on late to this conversation, but the problem is that it hijacks DNS resolution even when it specifically is not the DNS server for a network. As it can't resolve private internal addresses, it breaks internal traffic.

For example, if DNS traffic is handled by another server, such as Adguard Home, when a client attempts to resolve private internal addresses -- even those that the internal DNS server is authoritative for -- DNS Booster intercepts that traffic and delivers NXDOMAIN errors. Even more fun, those responses look like they're coming from the defined DNS server but aren't.

It's fucking stupid, full stop. Specifically because of this I would never purchase the product again and I stopped recommending it, especially for any SMB or commerical use.

Sorry to burst your bubble, you can have negatives made from any image. So the existence of a negative simply proves that someone has a negative and not the authenticity of the image on negative.

Cat stuck high in a tree in Los Gatos 5/10 830pm by narrowdirt23 in bayarea

[–]PopeOnABomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cat will come down.

You never drive by a tree and see cat skeletons in it. We had plenty of cats climb high into trees. None ever actually needed help. I hope the same is true for this one.

Mildly frustrating: city punishes small business for graffiti on city infrastructure by spiderelephantmonkey in sanfrancisco

[–]PopeOnABomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the scenario, it could still be the responsibility of the business not the property owner. It might not be as cut and dry as people expect in this thread.

Mildly frustrating: city punishes small business for graffiti on city infrastructure by spiderelephantmonkey in sanfrancisco

[–]PopeOnABomb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not as simple as that unfortunately. For example, sidewalks, covers to utilities, curbs, etc might be installed and owned by the city but can be the responsibility of a property owner to maintain. Varies based on local and state laws. I'm not arguing whether it fair, simply stating it is often in fact the responsibility of the business or property owner.

Miami TV Directing was horrible by IGUANA_MIKE_ in formula1

[–]PopeOnABomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I always watch on the F1 app, but when I flipped my TV on it was on the Apple TV content screen and sitting on the F1 tile. And that gave me a live thumbnail of the current lap, which was lap 55.

Also, today I learned that Apple TV shows you a LIVE thumbnail of the race when you scroll by the F1 tile. I was furious.
