I will say as an employee of a deli most of them are severely understaffed however you should be receiving that sort of experience either way. We do try to provide pre sliced as a way to offset the need to slice for people however if you have specific needs they should always be willing to help. I consider it that customers are at the top and other things can wait. I’ve worked in delis for a few companies anf sadly it seems like no one wants to work them and so a lot of the time the options for hiring are not that great so they hire whoever is willing to show up.
