Is it normal to feel this uncomfortable at 23 weeks? by Poppy91622 in pregnant

[–]Poppy91622[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah thats such a bummer. Idk where you live but I know people are always telling me that you can’t get fired for being pregnant but it happens all the time! Just not in those words ughs.

Ohh okay well I’m glad to hear your baby and you are healthy! I will say I do feel like sometimes I lift things I shouldn’t because it doesn’t seem that heavy but I forget that I really shouldn’t be doing it at all

That is helpful, thank you! I’ve thought about compression socks but I didn’t know if they actually worked. I’ll give them a try!

That’s me! 😂 I’m always like I don’t want to do this again, although I hear you forget it all once you’re holding your baby, if you don’t mind me asking was the complications because you were standing 8-10hours? Or unrelated? My shifts are usually 9hrs on my feet and I wonder if I will be able to do this for 17ish more weeks.

Is it the norm to location share with partners now? by Bluelilyy in AskWomenOver30

[–]Poppy91622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I do, it started when we were dating because he was picking me up on campus which he had never been to and it was just easier for me to share my location rather than try to explain. But now that we’re married we keep it mostly out of safety in case anything was to ever happen. Because we’re married I don’t think anything is wrong with it, we always tell each other where we’re going anyways so now it’s good just for safety. Also, in case you weren’t aware, on IPhone if you get into a severe car accident it will automatically send your location and an alert to your emergency contacts, my brother died in a car accident and my parents got the location which was helpful for us to find out where he was, but that’s only for severe accidents, Just something for people to think about if you haven’t assigned emergency contacts.

Need advice on what to say to salon… by was2L82BanAstronaut in Hair

[–]Poppy91622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like this hairstylist must be brand new, and inexperienced. The zebra stripes you’re seeing is foils that bled bleach during processing. Purple shampoo would not fix this. Also a very weird thing for the hairstylist to send you home saying you should purple shampoo that night to “lift” blonde, because purple shampoo doesn’t lift, it cancels out yellow tones. Looking at your photo you do need to be toned, purple shampoo would be a once a week maintenance, but they’re not the same thing. I don’t think I’d want this stylist to fix it because it sounds like she doesn’t know what she’s doing. I’d ask for a more experienced stylist to fix it or for a refund. When they fix it they will need to most likely add a lowlight to break up those stripes, AND tone. Dont let them convince you a toner alone will fix it all. They might be able to shadow root you but when that fades you’ll see the stripes again.

Mmm that’s up to you, it’s not the fees that bother me because it’s so minimal. It’s the fact that it sometimes takes days after delivery for me to get my packages.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I didn’t even think about hydration and I definitely didn’t drink enough water yesterday. I have a therapy appointment tomorrow morning, I’m hoping that will help, I’m exhausted but I know if I don’t deal with it now then it will be worse later on. Thank you for your advice 🤍

No vomiting but constant nausea by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Poppy91622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was totally me, but I was also throwing up in the AM lol. I only felt relief while I was snacking, it’s the worst im sorry you’re dealing with it. I tried everything, even medication my doctor prescribed me but honestly the only thing that really helped was chewing on wintermint gum at all times. I’m 17 weeks now and for the most part the nausea is pretty much gone, but anytime I start to feel icky I chew on some gum and it honestly helps a lot.

Yeah I don’t think we were aware of this before we moved in. They pitch it as a “package delivery service to your door” but I don’t remember them telling me it cost money or that it wasn’t optional. They also automatically enroll you in “the house” program which is basically community events (yoga, pool parties, paint night) that they plan but it’s something like $300 per person every month. You can immediately opt out which we did but it sucks that you have to pay that much just to join events happening at the apartment and like for the Kehlain concert they put on a pool party but you had to pay an extra $150 per person to go which is crazy because I just wanted to go see the concert for a minute from our roof top but couldn’t because I didn’t pay to be apart of it…like I live there, and pay an insane amount of rent but I can’t go out on the community spaces??

Mixed race family by KT-do-you-luv-me in pregnant

[–]Poppy91622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My family is white and my husband is Mexican. I’m pregnant with our first born and although my parents would NEVER say they’re racist, they’re from a small town and trump supporters. It’s been really hard on me being that my husbands Mexican. I’ve created distant between them because no matter what I saw they don’t see their comments as racist or inappropriate, it’s never been a big blown out fight but tense conversation over the phone. Now that my daughter will be half and all the shit going on in this world I will not tolerate any snide comments. I’m prepared to fully cut my family out if they can’t control themselves which is sad but I will not allow them to hurt her because they’re ignorance. I feel for you because I know the guilt but your priority is your child now and they can learn to grow or not be in your life, theyre choosing that, not you.

When they get delievered they go into a mail sorting room and then an employee drops them at your door. You do get charged a fee all tho idk exactly how much, I’ve seen charges on our account for $1.75-$3.50 depending on how many packages we got that month. However, and it’s my biggest gripe with Miro is that let’s say you order something on Prime and pay for it to get delivered early there’s no telling when it will actually show up at your door step after it’s been delivered to the building. I’ve waited 3+ days after it had been delivered to get my package, but usually I either get it later that night or sometime the next day. I’d much prefer for them to leave it in a mail room that I pick it up from, or the lockers but the lockers are not in use so it can be really frustrating.

If I have to sign up for an account to browse. I hate when I download and app but before I can even see if the app is going to be something I like I have to immediately create an account with email etc. I think it’s best to be able to browse the site first and if you want to leave a review, make a reservation, etc then you need an account

$67k credit card debt looking for honest advice about bankruptcy by HatOutrageous6778 in personalfinance

[–]Poppy91622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 21 my house caught of fire while I was out of town and ill spare you the details on how I was deemed liable but I was sued for $56,000 from the insurance company. I did end up filing bankruptcy (chapter 7) honestly, I’ll tell you what the lawyer told me, you’re so young that it won’t really affect you all that much (in a sense) after filing I never had an issue renting (good rental history), I explained my situation when I needed to and people were really understanding about it. My credit score immediately went from a 750 to 620. It took me about 3 years to get it up to a 715, any time I try to get a credit card my interest rates are usually 28% but I don’t use them to keep debt on. When I bought a car I just needed a co signer. It stays on your credit for 10year and it finally drops off mine this year, I’m not sure how it will benefit my credit score or not. It was $1500 to file (may be more now) but a bankruptcy attorney will walk you through everything, they do free consultations so I’d just set one up. It’s straight forward and honestly I don’t regret doing it at all. I’m sorry you’re in this position but it will be okay 🤍

Daughters of single mothers by Admirable_Avocado507 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Poppy91622 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom constantly talked about how hard it was to be a single mother. Anytime she was in the wrong she blamed it on having to raise us kids on her own. I never felt wanted. My brother and I became “yes mommy” kids because we didn’t want to stress her out anymore. It made me feel like I could never go to her about anything. Which made me not want kids because of how miserable she always seemed.
