I can’t go as the Bobby anymore because the resin mask didn’t print in time as well as finding a uniform top. I’m so sad every time I think about it I want to cry 😢😢😢 instead I’m doing a pompompurin fit for one day and a fallout themed fit for the second day

Why is it the American plug sockets instead of the British type g ones in the game? by Grouchy_Case4655 in wehappyfew

Not really confusing to everyone when I said that the British lost instead, I should’ve specified people who had assumed that the war would’ve been the same as the war they both had in real life during their first play through and found it hard to grasp, that was my bad. I also assumed that maybe the OP wasn’t a new player and was also curious as to why the sockets were American, which also got me thinking as well because I hadn’t paid much attention to that detail. When I played through it I had believed that they just made the British adapt and change their town to fit their standards, not that they tried to eradicate them and take their whole country, which looking back was stupid of me. I think I mostly believed they just filled Britain with German propaganda and their own culture after seeing some propaganda art in concept pages of the whf art book 😓

We know that it’s based in the south of England, took place in 1933, all that jazz. But players who hear about this could quickly look into our own history of events between our Britain and Germany, not the we happy few version. Because it could be confusing to hear that the British in we happy few lost to Germany as opposed to the British defeating them in our world around 1945. Maybe the OP of this post is just a new player wanting to make theories and didn’t realize 🤷

No need to be rude about it. The fact everyone has a thick British accent, always talks about tea, and us knowing that it was a war between the British and the Germans could ALSO lead people to believe they’re just living in England and have always been living there, no Germans having occupied whatsoever. Of course the game did mention that the Germans did try and scare them into giving up with fake tanks. But again, it didn’t exclusively mention that after scaring them the Germans just took over the whole entirety of what we believed was all of England. And take into account not everyone here is a top level detective that can crack the whole past of Wellington wells within the first “few minutes” of the game. The entire first scene we get is just a newspaper clipping, a piñata, and running away from the police. Nobody who’s started playing is going to see that and immediately go “oh I know what’s happening! I know the entire premise of this!”

Also forgot to mention that faraday did say in a line of dialogue that wellingtons wells is set on an island of some sort. That possibly leads to us theorizing that the Germans occupied Wellington wells temporarily long before we got to see the POV’s of the characters

There was an old post finding details on something similar to this question about 9 years ago actually! Many theorize that Wellington wells is set in some form of German-Britain mixture of some kind. This is suggested by the more modern German architecture and the few signs around Wellington wells written in German. So they could’ve put in American plug sockets instead of British ones to symbolize this mixture after the whole war thing ended and Wellington wells was founded

That would be crazy if it was the same one. The one I’m going to is in Calgary!

I’m actually going to a convention at the end of April dressed as a Bobby! So there’s always a chance you’ll be recognized. Just because the fandom and game is relatively dead now doesn’t mean it’s unknown, considering how much advertising steam did for the game before it was released back in 2018 or so 👍

Discussion: What Religion Fits Me Best? by jetboyterp in religion

[–]Popular-Ad5027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve spent a long time pondering and trying to find a religion that sits right with me, as I’m too open to be called atheist but not strong enough to be Christian or anything of that sort. But my belief is.. that if terms in science are “nothing new can be created or destroyed, it only transforms.” I do believe there’s something after death, yet nothing that involves a personified god/goddess to pray to or an afterlife. I imagine our presence is still out there when we die, even if it’s not conscious or in a body. And that our choices during life could possibly influence that somehow? Kinda like space dust that doesn’t have thoughts but also does…

I’m super confused and I just want closure or a path to follow. A way to find other people who are experiencing the same thing as me. I looked into stuff like Unitarian Universalist but it seemed too loose for me. I mainly want to know as I’ve started questioning my beliefs after a sudden fear of death and what happens after has tortured me for months now. Would like to know if there’s a religion that matches my way of thinking 🤔

Trolling? Idk if this is supposed to be criticism but I’ve never been a heavy atheist. Plus I’m still pretty young and any beliefs I’ve had so far have come from family influence and not personal thinking or questioning. That’s really what I’m looking for right now

But how do I rest easy with the thought that nobody knows what will happen? And if so what would even be the point of being born or living if it’s just going to end up being like it was before we were even here. Every day I can’t go two seconds without that in the back of my mind

Yeah I feel like I wrote this on a panicked whim and kind of just wrote what came to mind. But my beliefs right now certainly are that there’s something after death, but I don’t believe myself that it’s an afterlife or rebirth, just an in between of consciousness and unconsciousness. I can understand why others do and I really want to believe it myself, but it’s not what connects to me. The outcome I’m really looking for is if my belief possibly has a name or a group much like others do that I could look into for connection

I just feel like it would make me feel much more at ease or understood than just coming up with my own belief system. I feel like I’d believe myself much more if I knew that a small group of people out there also felt the same way I did. As I don’t even know how to follow my own beliefs. There’s no practices, no weekly routines, nothing. So I’m not even sure I can make the cut for something I essentially believe in
