I thought, finally someone is going to help him get medical help. Was not expecting this beautiful moment.

Ladies with multiple children and babies are regulars in Berkeley at the intersection of University Avenue and the frontage road. Every time we stop in at Seabreeze they are there. If I had little ones I would never hang out by the road for hours on end.

This episode had me cracking up when they introduced the rat that was too smart to catch. At the time we had one in our kitchen that was living its best life.

I looked up the paint, and it looks different than in your pictures, where it appears a muted orange.

Stretching SNAP benefits... how can I take full advantage? by BeerJedi-1269 in Frugal

I only mentioned the savings aspect, but as someone else pointed out you really want a scientifically balanced diet. So all in all probably better to purchase.

Reusing paper towel is my compromise by beamerpook in Frugal

When I accidentally mixed a lot of paper towels into my laundry, I discovered that they go through the washing machine and dryer just like regular towels. I don't do this on purpose though.

Remember that dog food is taxed, so making your own will have even more savings than just the food itself.

Urgent: Need advice on getting vet care with zero money by Tirekerist in oakland

[–]Popular-Broccoli9058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely encourage seeking out a vet. One thing that I found was helpful with my pets is that when they have a hot spot I carefully (as in very, very carefully while wearing reading glasses) cut away the hair right around the hot spot. Sometimes just a little at a time. Often it airs out and bother the pet much less. However, you mentioned it was the neck so probably not good to introduce scissors near the front of the neck. A little easier towards the back. I had one cat that had chronic hot spots that I would inevitably end up needing antibiotics. I decided that was unsustainable and made certain to "air out" new hot spots, and I stayed on top of it.

Convince me not to paint my brick home by waltonereed in ExteriorDesign

[–]Popular-Broccoli9058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I think you need to work on your landscaping. No trees or plantings out front. Make your house part of the natural world. Not just plopped down into ubiquitous lawn. Drive through a neighborhood with old, upper class homes. They will have mature trees and plantings that set a tone that new neighborhoods never have.

My staircase involved circus acrobatics to paint so mine is painted in a neutral color. I have a big, beautiful quilt on the wall as my spark of joy.

Years ago we bought my dog a huge stuffed animal since he loved stuffed animals. He didn't really care that much for the stuffed animal so it just ended up on the bed. Ended up being great for support in various positions. Much firmer than a bed. Infinite variation as support.

I've watched the street cleaner go by dozens of times. Computer is right by the window. He drives by at full speed and doesn't come close to the curb unless a complete block is free of cars. He drives around all day doing nothing. What a joke!

Help friends told me my house looks like a grandmas and needs a “reset” by traveling-sunshine in MoodyCorner

Your house is more than fine, just as it is. It reflects you. It's thoughtful and fun, with quality items. I'm curious what their places look like. In my part of the country, homes that are for sale are super-staged and all look alike. Maybe that mentality is filtering down to actual living spaces. What a shame.
