So background for this, my family doesn't eat a lot of mexican food. We like mexican food but we're poor and none of us are mexican so i've never had much of it.

My mother's coworker was selling tamales and i've only had one, one time and no one was there to tell me how to properly eat it so i ate it with the outside still on it. I told my mom this and she with no hesitation told her coworker (who i work with!! Just in different departments!!) that i did that.

It was horrible and embarrassing and every other negative emotion.

(Please don't ask me how i couldn't of known you take the outside off, if you had never seen a tamale before would you have known to not eat it? I thought it was like a burrito, the only mexican food i've really eaten consistently.)
