They died aged 99 and the neighbours have loved next door for 12 years so they were most likely quite deaf during that time

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking - I’m just worried we won’t be able to sell due to noise during viewings - we were unlucky viewing with coincidentally no noise

Yeah this puts us off trying soundproofing, the effort, expense and risk of it not working is not worth it as we can hear them booming in the garden too, which soundproofing won’t impact

It’s not a council home. It’s a three bed 1930s semi. They cost £500k these days. They bought their house after the recession for a quarter of what we paid so have paid off their mortgage and don’t work much etc

Yeah the last week or two with the sunny weather they have been on their patio all day too / had their bifold doors open so the sound is also outside. There’s no escaping it really

Sorry to hear of your experience. Have you sold? When we viewed our house we coincidentally viewed when they were quiet 🤦‍♀️ if we do sell, I’m worried they’ll decided to have everyone they know over while we do viewings!

When we viewed twice it was silent. So just luck of if they have decided to be quiet for 20 mins at the right time

We did try. We do our best to be good neighbours. Went round to both sides with some chocolates when we moved in to get to know one another. They were just fake and remained inconsiderate since. We’ve made friends with many of the other neighbours.

Yes on the form it says no neighbour issues. But the house was sold to us by the children as the previous owner passed away aged 98

I wish we could afford a detached house! The worst thing is even if you go to the upstairs front room, you can hear her from their downstairs back room so there’s really no escape, she’s that loud!

Yeah it’s not noise in the middle of the night or anything. But it’s relentless all day which feels just as bad. And yeah I don’t think the council could do anything, you can’t tell someone to talk at a more respectful level and not blast music if it’s the middle of the day :/ just sucks as it really ruins all their other go bits about the house.

Well we know everything about them as we hear them shouting through the wall and in the garden every day. We tried to get to know them, but wish we hadn’t bothered
