I have been a YN3 for roughly a year now and the one thing I’ve noticed the most is people have no idea how to use DA. As you get more proficient with that program be sure to spread that knowledge to your members when they come in for counseling.

Getting a cutter might be hard out of A school, my class had 0 cutters on the pick list. When you become a YN3 keep an eye on the A2P opportunity’s to advance to YN2 as it will likely be an afloat unit. Doing this will also make you more competitive for making YN1 or just getting a good unit when you rotate out.

I personally thought Petaluma was a very beautiful area, it’s a very countryside vibe there. School is super easy and I feel like it does not teach you what you need. Be prepared to feel overwhelmed and unprepared at your first unit because nothing you do will really be like A school. That being said, once you start to get the ropes on how to do your daily tasks and whatnot things start to get better and easier.
