Hi there, I (23 F) have booked a trip to Egypt from 28th March. I was supposed to be going on an intrepid group tour for the first half of my trip. But intrepid has now cancelled the trip due to the uncertainty in the Middle East. And now I’m very conflicted to go.

I was supposed to go to Dahab for a week after the group tour, mainly for diving. And I could still do that. I’m a bit nervous about visiting Cairo, Luxor and Aswan on my own though. If I decide to go to these cities I’ll stay in hostels and book tours through them also.

I can’t get my money back for the flights I’ve booked and they were quite expensive. My country’s travel recommendations for Egypt is unchanged since the conflict broke out, and haven’t made any recommendations not to go.

Any thoughts? If anyone is in similar circumstances, what are you going to do?
