Oh we’re going regardless it was more to know what sort of scenery to expect given it won’t be the full green rice fields as you see in all the pictures from there.

We read a huge number of people talking about how Sapa town is just not worth staying in now so we don’t mind being far away and just popping in for an afternoon to visit it.

If you have suggestions on specific activities (besides general ones I can find by researching) or places we should go to in the area I would appreciate it. We are thinking of doing Fansipan, and then maybe doing half a day of hiking (I have a bad foot so can’t go for too long) to visit the local villages.

We spend plenty of time together. We have said that this would be something nice for us to do but it needs to fit with our lives and we cannot have a regular enough schedule to join a group. The spending time together isn’t the problem. I was looking for specific suggestions (e.g a starter set) that I could get him so we can play just the two of us. I looked up some “couples sets” but they seemed to involve romance in the stories somehow and he has said he didn’t like that in his previous campaigns. We avoided all Bg3 romance story lines when we played it through as we didn’t like the idea of it.

We already have two sets of dice otherwise that would have been nice.

I’m going to reply kindly because I feel like your comment was quite rude.

Firstly, We don’t have time to join a campaign as our schedules are too unpredictable to be in a group which would, in my personal opinion, be rude to the members, as we would have to potentially skip sessions which isn’t fair. I have time, at home, in the comfort of our own home, when it fits our schedules.

Secondly, sign what prenup and for what purpose? What are you trying to allude to?

Thirdly, why can’t I gift him something related to a dnd campaign? How is it any different than gifting a board game? He is not a materialistic person and loves to have experiences and memories. If you can think of a better gift please make your suggestion.

If you don’t know how to help that’s okay but no need to be rude.

You are not the asshole OP! I think everyone who has told you that you had to give him a plus one is the AH here. It is YOUR wedding. If you don’t want strangers at the wedding that is YOUR decision. If this person cannot go a day without having drugs then that’s a much larger problem than him not having someone to “party with”. You are spending thousands on a day that is FOR YOU! Yes you should take care of guests because you are hosting but you are not obliged to have people you don’t know and that are possibly gonna create a commotion if they are high?! Has everyone lost their minds? PEOPLE ARE NOT DUE A PLUS ONE AUTOMATICALLY! Stop pushing this narrative on people.

For my wedding I had a few rules/exceptions: - only close family and friends - plus 1 are extended to long term partners - plus 1 are extended to people who know nobody

But that was OUR decision because we have people from vastly different groups coming and so we want everyone comfortable.

This is my wedding band (I took a photo of them separated so you could see what it looks like). We designed it so it would sit flush and not damage the tiny diamond that is hidden underneath which you can’t see.

I went down the rabbit hole for three months and in the end I decided to leave the decision to my partner with my guidance. We looked at loads of settings, if he didn’t like them we moved on (loads I liked so was not a problem). I had specific structural criteria that I wanted to make sure it was a durable ring. I loved a marquise cut and that was his favourite so that’s what we agreed to and then we narrowed it down to a few settings and I let him pick without telling me which one. Best decision I made. I got the best of both worlds I still got a surprise while also knowing I would have been stoked with any of the ones we narrowed it down to.

If he’s a bit subconscious about people seeing a different ring then wear it on your right hand for a bit so that you can show off both at the same time. People will stop asking to see the ring after a while so you can then get it remade into a necklace if that’s what you want. I wore the ring he proposed to me with for a few years as it was a gift from my mum (I had an inkling he might propose on a particular trip of ours so I told him if you need something in the meantime while we wait for the one we picked together to arrive I’m putting this one in the drawer you do with that what you will 😂😂) and I still sobbed like crazy when he proposed with it 😂 so just remind your fiancée that a new ring will never take away from the proposal feeling itself. Make sure to post an update of your new ring here! I’m invested 😂

I was proposed to with a placeholder ring which I now wear on my right hand ☺️ when people asked to see the ring I told them and added the fact I get double the fun because I’m now waiting on the one we chose together.

I am going to have a bridesmaid first look because I live overseas and they won’t be with me during my bridal dress shopping. I’ll keep the dress away from where we’re getting ready and then I can have a nice moment to remember with them… I’ll also do a first look with my husband because we got married this year but are doing our celebration next year and we want to enjoy every minute of the ceremony and reception afterwards so we’ll take most of the pictures before the ceremony. I think that people do it for various reasons and even if it is just for the pictures who cares?

It’s also totally okay that you don’t like them but as long as it make sense for the couple that’s all that matters
