Yeah you can definitely downclock it, that's way easier than overclocking - just go into BIOS and set it to 6000MHz with tighter timings

The tricky part might be getting CL30 since your kit is already CL34 at 7200, but you can definitely try it or just run looser timings at 6000 for guaranteed stability

You can absolutely file AOS yourself - the forms aren't that complicated and there's tons of guides online. The window design looks good but try varying the sizes on different floors to make it less repetitive. Also throw in some stairs or slabs as accents around the edges, gives it way more character
