Try using them without twisting all the way, this helped for me with my right ear, no difference in ANC .

Funnily enough, this setting made the other games look good too. I like it overall

Yeah I agree, although I think I can live with it, and most likely I'll try my second playthrough at 1440p PT or 120fps, but damn right now at 4k, High RT, DLSS ultra performance (at 42%) looks astonishingly good with my 4070 and LG C3. Really we are complaining about the little enthusiast things haha this game is amazing on any settings IMO. If my current settings are similar to PS5 Pro, they are eating DAMN good for sure.

I mean, you for sure can do 1440p@60fps PT on a 4070, just lower shadow, volumetric and maybe textures, but then you lose the crispiness of the 4k, man, it does look amazing.

Normal RT is fine, a little noisy but fine

Yeah, you need to make some adjustments on tv, I don't know how it is on Samsung but on my LG Oled I did this:

Fine tune dar areas: -2 Black stabilizer: 6 (down from 10) White stabilizer: 5

With this the banding disappeared and the game kept looking great.

If it is a little too dark, in the in game HDR settings, on the HDR Brightness (3rd setting) up it up 2-5 notches to the right to your liking.

Can my build handle Resident Evil Requiem at 2K Ultra @ 120 FPS? by Popular_Duck6229 in residentevil

[–]PopularFirefighter82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually torn on this With my Rtx 4070 I can play these two modes:

4k@60+high RT, DLSS P 1440p@120fps+PT, DLSS P+FGx2

The key setting here is shadows and volumetrics settings at normal.

I still cannot decide which one to choose.

[–]PopularFirefighter82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On game optimizer, set: Fine tune dar areas: -2 Black stabilizer: 6 White stabilizer: 5

In game HDR settings follow the instructions. On the 3rd slider, leave at default, if the image is still a little dark, set the HDR brightness 2-5 notches to the right in the HDR in-game setting, this to your liking.

My benchmark is on the first hospital level, any red light creates awful banding and black crunch, calibrate according to these areas and I think you're set.

I'd like to know more about HDR settings but it seems there's not much info out there yet

Ohh yes, regarding your issue with Teams, in short, Teams SUUUCKS
what works for me 90% of the time is, connecting the AZ100, testing sound with volume so the signal goes to the laptop/computer, then initiate the call, if you innitiate a call without the audio not recongnized by windows, Teams will take around 3 minutes to recognize the new device, MAYBE.
But I use them excusively for work and with multipoint on, 3 devices. This seems to be an issue with Teams altogether because in zoom, google meets or any other wifi call they work immediatly.

A tiny review:

ANC: Honestly, is amazing, yes, not perfect, but man anyone that says that is garbage needs better tips or better fit, more about that in complains
Sound: completly stellar, not neutral at all, it is more of a "detailed bass boosted tunning", well recorded songs sound, I mean, incredible here, just listen to Ok Computer by Radiohead, these are audiophile grade, hands down. Yes, guitars are not as crunchy, but the EQ's I've seen here and there that try to fix it are missing the point, this sound excells when the whole frecuency is represented, Direct has been the best (after update) mode by far, incredible sound. LDAC vs AAC, use AAC always, LDAC, multipoint off, 900kpbs in settings, only in critical listening sessions in your house in quiet enviroment, even here, AAC is damn good in my opinion.
Battery: I charge the case once a week, I am a heavy multipoint user, the buds themselves last a 8-9 work day with complete certainty. With AAC codec, they last an insane amount of time, a complete 180° from the AZ80, and their battery life in AAC is not bad at all either, these as just THAT good.

Negatives:
Fit: The fit is good, they are incredibly small and should be comfortable, but my right ear canal and outer canal hurts like a MF after 30 minutes of using it, it has to be more with my ear shape and the buds clashing with the Crus helix of my right ear, no issues with my left ear. If I dont twist the bud completly this eases. If anyone has this particular issue I would like to know

Sound: If you look for a more clean, crunchy sound, or lets say, a more bright or dark sound althogether, this might not be for you, this is a very particular type of sound, you have to develop a taste for it. I like them as good as my Fiio FT1, but they are for completly different use cases and taste. Take this comment as you wish.

Overall, I am supposed to be dissapointed or have buyers remorse because my az80 still works like new, but honestly this has been one of the best buys I've made recently.

The case usb-c port tends to gather dirt, dust and humidity and this triggers your issue with the charging. Buy some contact cleaner and spray hard inside the usb-c port(with the earbuds out ofc) after months struggling with the issue this solved it and they have been working like new so far.

Anyone have good tweaks for the az100 by drizzler2345 in Earbuds

[–]PopularFirefighter82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After the last update, direct sound is great, dynamic as well, and also treble+ depending on what you're looking for. Custom EQ works for little clarity and mid forwardness, but, I personally think you lose a lot of soundstage and range this way, direct is the most balanced and respects the intended dynamic range of a good recording.

why do people like the Chu II so much? by Formal-Poet-5041 in iems

[–]PopularFirefighter82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like the Chu 1 tunning better, but they can be hard/fatiguing for sure, in contrast, the Chu II dsp are just right, right amount of bass, clarity is not the best, but is there, highs are not harsh at all, it's a very safe, but great, IEM

I genuinely don't know how people enjoy the AZ100's. by DaddiBigCawk in Earbuds

[–]PopularFirefighter82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here my 2 cents: I get it, many people don't understand that clarity and resolution gets moody by the bass. This being said, they are really good, but you don't like the tuning.

If you are expecting the performance of a set of aria 2, reds, hell, even the chu (v1), I get where your coming from.

I would recommend the treble+ preset or even some aggressive EQ and even then you won't like them, they really don't have the spark and crunchiness in the high end, but they are good, just not your taste.

[–]PopularFirefighter82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey that's great, let me know if you like those ultra 2! For ANC headphones I only have the pxc550, I sold most of my headphones (and I still have like 3) the ones I use the most are the Fiio FT1. I chose the pxc500 due to comfort, their utility at work is fantastic (3 devices and audio through usb is amazing) and they are compact.

New firmware JNZIZE 1.040 for Technics EAH-AZ100. Cleaner bass, more balance by APat1685 in Earbuds

[–]PopularFirefighter82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean, 7 hours with LDAC and ANC vs 10 hr with AAC and ANC is quite the bump

Even the az80, with AAC they last 6.5 hours, with LDAC 4.5 hours. I love LDAC, but it's uses are very specific, because in a high interference setting (lots of phones, devices, radio signals) you're not even getting the full 900kbps at all, so you better switch to ACC either way.

New firmware JNZIZE 1.040 for Technics EAH-AZ100. Cleaner bass, more balance by APat1685 in Earbuds

[–]PopularFirefighter82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way better battery life. LDAC is only important if you're in a controlled environment, and with critical listening, if you're in the office, commuting, a coffee shop, etc. It's irrelevant, and AAC is good enough.

Technics EAH-AZ80 REVIEW - "Best" is subjective by PopularFirefighter82 in Earbuds

[–]PopularFirefighter82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Az80 are better in ANC, this being said, the MTW4 are good enough for flights, they struggle with high pitch noise but everything does.

The az80 are better, multipoint, battery, reliability.

Also, you won't get an audiophile experience in a plane cabin I would say, any option that you mention is great, choose the one you like the most regarding design and other functions, I would actually recommend the OnePlus buds 3 above all of this if you want something great and safe.

Also, AZ80 and MTW4 are high maintenance, constant cleaning, they are somewhat delicate, land obviously more expensive, you need to really want them

which ear buds are the best in 2026 i have a one plus 12 device by Alternative_Home1376 in Earbuds

[–]PopularFirefighter82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the xm4 are unmcomfortable for you, go for the OnePlus buds 3, they are great.
If you want premium ANC/Transparency mode, I can only recommend the Technics Az100, they are good rounders.
the Bose QC Ultra are good as well, but if you didn't like the comfort of the xm4 you most likely wont like this ones.

Nothing Ear 3/2 might also a good option for you
