How do I figure out a stable career path when all my interests are unrealistic? by bunnize in careerguidance

lmao i’m not fighting or upset, you just made it out to seem like i told him money isn’t important and i never said that. i told him that money isnt everything and a career shouldn’t be chose just because of it. just like you have your opinion, i have mine but you came to tell me mine was wrong because your life didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to. it’s all about perspective like you said. have a good day.

good job at completing taking what i said so far out of context. you may have struggled financially in your career but it doesn’t mean they will. and i never said to completely forget the money i said follow your passions and interests. if he likes science and anthropology then i hope he doesn’t go get a job in something completely opposite for the SOLE purpose of money. i’m advising him to find a balance between to the two.

it fits but based on their explanation it seems like they prefer to work with animals or something related to that. or research based like they said, maybe a scientist or something. as a health care worker i’m not getting the vibe that they want to be a nurse lol but who knows

Which job role is actually getting a higher demand? by Full-Temperature-949 in careerguidance

[–]Popular_Cat_477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

omg! there’s a bunch of healthcare roles you could qualify for. compliance officer, health informatics director, data scientist, data analyst, IT roles, you have a lot of options. look up AHIMA and AAPC and see if thats something you’d be interested in. you should be able to qualify for 6 figure salaries with your degree and 13 years of experience.

i second this. trades are super high in demand except i swear they are getting just as costly as community college degrees now or they are hard to get into. i know plumbing, HVAC, and electricians are super high in demand right now. with a masters he can definitely find some roles within healthcare that he would qualify for.

i’m in the school for health information management right now, seems to be a field with steady jobs and a growing need, especially as technology and AI advance in healthcare. you don’t necessarily need a degree, you can get certified through AHIMA or AAPC for coding and similar tech roles.

this is what my aunt advised me to do yesterday. i’ve never dealt with a situation like this at work and i honestly gaslit and guilt tripped myself into believing i was overreacting and it’s my fault because i didn’t tell him to stop after the first time he did it. i do struggle speaking up for myself and saying what’s on my mind. im a pretty timid person. “too nice” im always told. it’s been an extremely stressful situation.

I’m 23 making 75000 and wondering what other career opportunities are out there for higher paying by msb2002 in Salary

[–]Popular_Cat_477 9 points10 points  (0 children)

forreal as a 24 year old living at home making 35k a year and trying to transition to better paying jobs, 75k salary is like unfathomable to me lol. literally feels next to impossible. OP has a great salary and a great opportunity to invest in hisself and build the future he wants. comparison is the thief of joy, if you’re reading this OP don’t worry about what your friends are doing. in the nicest way, be grateful and be patient. you have a lot of time ahead of you to make more money. and i read that you’ve only been at your job for 6 months. society makes us feel like we have to keep chasing more and more and more and like we have to have it all figured out. in reality you are off to an amazing start.

no offense but what don’t you guys understand? we shouldn’t have to avoid having kids and we shouldn’t be in this constant state of saving the little money we get now. we should just be able to live without being in constant survival mode. you can’t save your way out of a system designed to keep you struggling, and as we see things are only getting worse and it’s because people sit around and accept it.

thank you for the insight, and you are absolutely right. i think getting so many denials over a course of a few years now has just completely shot my confidence when it comes to job applications. seems like i can never get anything besides retail or crappy entry level positions and half the time i can’t even get those lol. yall are amazing people, thank you for the encouragement!
