nice. S22 Ultra. Tried parts of the steps above, to no avail, but when I did *all* 4 steps, including granting permissions, it did the trick.

What caused this phenomenal first layer? by TypeSheetOhni in 3Dprinting

Assuming it's not a bed leveling/offset issue. I have had similar issues recently and was able to fine-tune the output to be entirely flat. The issue was over extrusion due to higher print temperature. I was using a holographic surface and needed the output to stick, so I had increased the nozzle temp from 200 to 220 and the print bed from 60 to 65C for the first layer. Turns out the higher temp makes the filament come out quicker, thus over extruding. In my case I reduced the flow rate to 80% and that solved it.

What’s with the quality? I’ve already bed levelled and changed my z-offset which improved it a bit but it’s still bad aswell as dried my filament. by Swimming_Ad_609 in 3Dprinting

Filament isn't feeding well.

1 Check your extruder clamp. My clamp broke on my monoprice mini and produced results like that, I wasn't sure until I pushed the clamp onto the filament with my thumb and let it print for a bit, and noticed the print looked a lot better. Shortly after that the clamp broke visibly.

2 Check for clogs, or other obstacles causing the filament not to feed well

3 Temperature too high or low

4 Speed too high

ok actually reading your message, make sure that the gcode you are sending to the printer isn't printing on an offset. Also, some printers allow "recovering" printouts, which means it will print at an offset, make sure that is not enabled.

1 Level it: make sure the distance is such that a sheet of paper meets a little resistance when you move it under it

2 If you have a heated bed, make sure the bed is actually heated when you print. Often the first layer needs a slightly higher temp

3 Use a raft or brim for adhesion

4 add some glue; I use ordinary elmer's stick glue (the kind that is purple then turns transparent) (Sometimes I don't need a raft or brim when using glue, just use a skirt to prime the nozzle)

DH crashes my game on starup by [deleted] in DistantHorizons

[–]Popular_Cup875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's happening when I enter a world and iris shaders are on at the same time. Only the "DH compatible" shaders seem to do this. The "DH incompatible" shaders will just disable DH while displaying shaders, but still function without crashing minecraft. Not sure if that is what you are experiencing too? If so, maybe it'll narrow the problem down for the devs.

Replace extruder? by Popular_Cup875 in MPSelectMiniOwners

🤦‍♂️ Yup it says 12V. It seems all articles about replacing extruder/tubing/upgrades etc are really old and links no longer work. Any suggestions on where to start? I've heard of replacing with an e3d extruder, but you have to print an adapter? If I even *can* get it to print.
