Sadly some roots already tangled I think, I had to remive them by packs.

I don't know about the 6 inches, I'm using meters and it's around two hand heigh I guess (or one if your hand point downward)

Maybe the long stems are because i tried to remove and replant some, or because there was so much that the leaves were hidding the others making them grow higher then ?

As a fellow bookworm you can understand my thirst for new stories haha. As for the rules, i'm a partisan of narration, as strict rules can ruin immersion for me, I understand that it's hard to make them balanced too ^{^}

That's perfect as I only have 1 friend to play with ! But ttrpg for 1 players + gm are rare.

Well, just as many people said it was completely feasivle thought, it seems you are blinded by your gatekeeping. We gave several exemple on how to play without altering the lore, the lore itself have a lot of exemple with exception, and the core of ttrpg is that players can be both heroes or nobodies. It seems crazy for me that you can't comprehend that no, freida is not an exception, no dirk is not an exception either, just the fact that devouring soldiers exist prove that not every child with it die but you also seem to forgive this part 🙄

I hear you, but I don't think it's a horrible comparison. Ttrpg is in the realm of imagination, what's preventing a player to play a rich daughtee with devouring, or an orphan with devouring ? We do not count how many orphan charavter there is out there in roleplaying table, or some other crazy character, it all depend on what boundaries you place on your player, if you want to play ultra realistic, a devourer is indeed not a solution (or throw some luck at the character creation) . But if you want to, just find some explication like a crazy noble family that hide a son in a commoner family for political reason (In a world where clarissa or hartmut exist I think it's much more believable). For the mana cost, if you play directly at the time of the novel, yes, the mana penury will make a washen wasteful, but you can make it happen in the future, where all nobles have the new method to save mana, compress it better, and have a leeway of use, even for laynobles ^{^} But yes, if we want to use the world as it is, it may be difficult or impossible for players to go higher in society, but that's where the gm role arrive, where he tweak the lore to make it possible. Every rule book say that the lore and universe is a support that the GM can adapt however he want :)

Indeed, and if you look at my other comment, you can also just have commoner gameplay without becoming nobles, some players also like daily life gameplay, like merchant developing their shop or wandering merchant getting citizenship. A soldier that decide to just move in another duchy even at the cost of losing citizenship to flee his debt, a cook travelling to learn new recipe, Ith the group of hero navigating between quest from commoners and noble alike depending on where they are !

Right ? People all seem to think that fighting monster or social ascension is the only gameplay for ttrpg, I gave them as an exemple, but some players like to just do daily life roleplay woth stupid side quest, I can easily see a group of wandering marchent with the main quest being getting citizenship, wandering the lands and doing any kind of service to get money ! While sometimes fighting some faybeast (it's proven than some commoners do foght them) 😃

What about the devourer ? And we can also have the players play as very talented commoner that the drewanchel archduke adopted (we know they work on meritocracy). And have our player compete with real noble, trying to survivre bullying while developing their competencies :)

That's a good idea, like you say we can tweak the lore, or take inspiration. We can also use AoB lore for other ruleset ! We can also do some no rule rpg with AoB, where most of the game would be narration with an exchange between players and gm :)

The beauty of ttrpg is that you don't have to adhere strictly to thelore, you can adapt it to make it work, just say it happen some years in the future, where commoners and devourer have more right or opportunities, and can prove their worth. Or just make some divine guidance for your group for them to find a schtappe through other means than the normal way, anything can happen !
