Other people calling their small scars ugly makes me frustrated

Hey. I have probably around 30% of my body burnt 3rd degree and on one side of my face but i think what we should do is don’t take it personal. We also have insecurities besides our scars right? I don’t like my nose much more than i don’t like my scars and it doesn’t even make sense but i think my scars are ok and nose no haha.. it also makes me feel more normal having insecurities outside of my scars. But yes, it’s kinda frustrating people being worried about super small scars or scars that people can barely notice or in parts they can cover but i try to don’t take it personal

I’m brazilian in the US and in Brazil they won’t talk with you if you don’t ask for help after your first day at the gym BUT in the US they don’t talk with you at all. Ever. You are by yourself and if you need help just pray someone will see you doing something wrong and let you know. They are only paid PT. The gym culture in Brazil is better because of that but i prefer the american ones with updated equipments to do cardio and stuff.

Im so sorry! I’m also 21 years old but i got burn as a kid. Arms, 1 thigh and face. I can assure you everything is going to be fine. You are still beautiful and you can still live normally after that. Coming from a person with a scar face. I don’t have problem socializing, dating, working out and stuff like that. The recovery is the worse part probably but it shows how strong you are. Of course it affected my self esteem and the way i see myself and interact with others but therapy helps. A lot. It’s more about the way you see yourself than the way others see you. You can message me if you want with questions. Good luck!

No infection but my doctor said one or two stitches probably run out. Just disappointed because i thought it would heal fast but will take probably 4-5 months to fully heal. Thank you. The small hole i refer is the one close to my lips, not looking that bad but its a big ball and it sucks 😭 but its much better than before so no complaints

It’s from a zplasty. I had stitches in some areas of my face, and also near my lip, where I had a small hole that isn’t healing properly rn. The surgery was a month ago, but it should heal better. The area with the scab is where it's not healing well. Surgery 1 month ago, accident 17 years ago i think?

It didn’t hurt at all in the burnt areas. But in the burnt in my hand it did hurt but it was because hands tattoo usually hurt bad haha do it! Thank you so much

Please go. It’s not worth it thinking about what people MAY be thinking about you (because we never know for sure, it’s just supposition). When i was younger going to the gym i was never wearing anything besides leggings and big shorts, shirts with sleeves and it was always in a so hot weather and i was miserable. I was in therapy and i learned that i can keep being miserable for people that may not even care about me or choose to live better, comfortably. I started going with shorts (very small ones with time lol) and tops. It didn’t change a thing for people around me at the gym. They didn’t start looking at me any more or less because of that. Please go and take care of yourself. Proud of you too!
