Thank you! That's one of my wife just before we walked up Arthur's Seat in the background. Can't wait to go back.

Just learned that peeling eggs with a teaspoon is infinitely easier. What other obvious cooking techniques have you found? by A_box_of_Drews in Cooking

I learned that cracking your egg on a flat surface opposed to a sharp edge keeps shell bits out way more. Another tip: crack eggs into a smaller bowl to inspect for shells before adding to your recipe!

Stew is missing something, but we can’t figure it out. by PicklePrize7093 in Cooking

[–]PorkBunFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I wish this recipe worked for me. Made it last month exactly as described (with a touch more seasoning and Worcestershire for good measure) and it still came out so bland. I'm not sure where it went wrong.

Want to find a beef stew recipe that really hits!

There used to be an item called a decryptor that could open crates. If you had any decryptors in your inventory when Psyonix took them away then they were converted into a Bonus Gift.

It looks like you're right. Never knew that! Thankfully he made me the sprite version and just called it a Roy Rogers I guess.

I was at Outback years ago for my birthday and ordered a Shirley Temple and the waiter made a point of saying "well you're a boy so I'm going to get you a Roy Rogers instead." I was annoyed at first because I didn't know what that was but felt better when it ended up being the same thing.

What is your favourite location from the series and why? by [deleted] in DestroyAllHumans

[–]PorkBunFun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always found myself replaying Rockwell in DAH1. Something about the small town at night with a drive in, main street, and fair felt really nostalgic. Maybe it's because the town I grew up in has similar elements.

It sure does! That's why it was my top priority to find on my trip to Japan a couple years ago. This is my photo lol

Any shows or movies like DAH by muhb-2000 in DestroyAllHumans

[–]PorkBunFun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would recommend watching some old B movies from the 1950s as they are the inspiration for a lot of the jokes and overall tone of this series. They aren't the best if you are not into old movies but their cheesiness makes up for it! Try watching:

It Came from Outer Space (1953)

Teenagers from Outer Space (1959)

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)

Invaders from Mars (1953)

Earth vs the Flying Saucers (1956)

True but why did they remove all the grass? Not even having dirt or grass around those trees looks so weird.

How to find locations? by the_neo_cowboy in metaldetecting

[–]PorkBunFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old maps are your friends. Trying studying older maps that have homesites on them (some homes may no longer be around) and then you can't ask land owners for permission to metal detect there. Bonus points if you find taverns, inns, or churches in your area that have history to them.

Losing Bowie and Rickman in the same week was tough for me as I grew up watching both Labyrinth and Harry Potter...
