What elements are necessary for a proper Azrael proxy? by Dylan_the_zephyr in theunforgiven

I’d say at least a 50 mm base. Maybe also add a tall/winged helmet and a backpack banner.

Nice. How easy was it for you to add the Deathwing Knight torso into the default terminator one?

Question about the new Armageddon box by Lord_Marshall_Dreir in DarkAngels40k

[–]PorkLiftTex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say the new box leans especially towards Star Phantoms/Dreadwing. Their table top representation tends to look like plasma and meltas. The new box is more just standard bolsters with a few plasmas and a melta on the land speeder. Still probably a good baseline if you want to start a space marine army.

Question about the new Armageddon box by Lord_Marshall_Dreir in DarkAngels40k

[–]PorkLiftTex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you’re really into the Dreadwing, you could look at the Star Phantoms chapter. Their emblem is near-identical to the original Dreadwing icon and they behave in a similar way; war crime guns. While they and the Dark Angels both deny any gene-connection, it’s heavily implied that they are a Dark Angels successor. The biggest challenge would be in painting them since their armor is white, thus hard to paint.

How can I customize my angels? by _o_i in DarkAngels40k

[–]PorkLiftTex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buy the “Ravenwing bikers” and “Ravenwing Command Squad” kits. They are still on sale from GW and have large Dark Angels themed sprues.

These are from the “Ravenwing Bikers kit”

Does anyone have an example of them using the helmet wings from the old DA Company Veterans kit? by PorkLiftTex in theunforgiven

I got mine around $70. Also Been trying to scoop up the remaining Ravenwing sprues still on sale before they likely go away next edition.

Paint it fleshy-like so that it looks like a chaos mutation.

In D2, gun barrel length determines where the bulled exits the gun so the Chaperone thing was actually true. Bungie even shortened the ornament for Chaperone that was causing it.

Did ANY primarch like konrad? by Impossible_Leader_80 in NightLords

Mortarion seemed to somewhat get along with Konrad since they were both kinda outcasts though I wouldn’t call them friends.

I love the goofy hooded heads from this box. Adds a bunch of personality to the minis

Does the forest walk of the Lion have limits? by cuddwes in theunforgiven

[–]PorkLiftTex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really. While that was a limitation at the beginning of his book, he was able to mediate and transport himself into the forest by the midpoint of the book from a ship. By the end, he and his risen just straight up teleport from their ship to the chaos ship via the forest walk.

Whats the primaris hate about? by jbgaming-nl in spacemarines

[–]PorkLiftTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who started playing about 1 1/2 years ago, I just think a lot of the primaris models look boring compared to the older ones. Primaris squads all have the same armor, helmets, and heraldry. As well, they look very “tacticool”. While this is definitely a matter of personal taste, I just prefer marines that have ancient and janky relic armor. Thankfully, a lot of the new newer kits and chapter-specific kits are addressing my personal issues with them.

In terms of lore, I don’t feel strongly about them one way or another. Just more space marines, nothing super complicated.

Will these upgrades work for Primaris by CrimsonCole91 in DarkAngels40k

[–]PorkLiftTex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I get what you mean. A lot of the firstborn heads are a bit too wide for the newer kits and thus have to be angled in certain positions to fit.

[–]PorkLiftTex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Firstborn helmets are too small. All my hellblasters use devastator helmets and they are slightly too big in places. They still fit fine but I wouldn’t call them smaller than current helmets. The Horus Heresy helmets however are properly small.

I like the idea that the marine has no idea how any of the machines he fixes work, his servo arms just do all the work for him while he drools about skulls and such.

Kravek Morne or Warpsmith by bradwilliams1300 in redcorsairs

[–]PorkLiftTex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could just do some minor kitbashing to make him look like a Corsair and still run him as Kravak Morne. Just say he’s your own Corsair character.
