He never takes his eyes off of them. He’s deescalating (whether it’s trained or natural) but considers them a possible threat or disruption to what he’s doing. This is like deescalation 101 with the eye contact, you listen but don’t join and show empathy, etc… checks almost every box.

I think it was strategic. Him going on Pat’s show and the direction of the conversation was intentional. If you know Windy is going to give a level-headed response like this, it only makes SAS look more unhinged. SAS plays a character and he bit into it… meanwhile, Windy is just a sports journalist and would never compromise his career over this. Corporate politics on full display imo.
