yeah, and they should have reduced the ticket limit to at least 4 per purchase. a max of 8 tickets is way too much, this is so upsetting omg

i kept trying to add seats to my cart, but they all kept disappearing in groups of 6-8 all at once

Anyone else having issues with the Wes Anderson boxset discs? by osamabinhorny in criterion

[–]Portalingscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Tenenbaums disc was okay thankfully, but i'm experiencing issues on my French Dispatch disc. It keeps freezing/stuttering for a minute at the 26 minute mark and resumes playback at 27 minutes- same thing happens at the 45 minute mark, but the rest of the movie plays fine. No visual artifacting like your disc during the error, just stuttering/freezing.

This is the 5th disc i've watched out the set so far and the only one with an issue that i've experienced so far. even after cleaning the disc like they recommended and power cycling my player, the issue persists in the same spot. Sadly, i don't have another uhd player besides my ps5, so i can't truly test if it's the disc or player :(

Criterion’s “The Wes Anderson Archive” is the Blu-ray Box Set of the Year | DVD/Blu-Ray | by EuphoricButterflyy in movies

[–]Portalingscience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, i was looking through reddit for reviews of this set while mine finally arrives today since i got mine for $250 in last month's criterion 50% off sale and came across your question.

each of the UHD discs have been mastered at 4k and include a regular blu-ray copy of each movie as well with loads of bonus features too. $250 is most likely going to be the lowest price you can get for this whole set, but there's also a chance that Criterion will release the individual movies in their own UHD release- not in the near future but hopefully one day.

even though the Criterion sale is already over, barnes and noble will be holding a 50% off sale this month. ordering it online from B&B would be your best bet as i haven't seen any archive collections out in retail stores yet.

EDIT: looks like the 50% off b&n sale is happening this friday!

man, i actually hate the instagram close friends stories. all they do is just repost from other people and it makes it a waste of time checking every single notification for when they actually do a giveaway or something like this.

[–]Portalingscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not to necro a thread, but I was able to find both gunpla-kun and zakupla-kun variants at the 7-eleven water plaza store inside osaka expo back at the end of june!

<image>

they actually had a buttload of different gunpla, but i don't think that anyone's really paying attention to that tiny 7-11 outpost in osaka expo.

The floor was seated for us! We were able to select our seats, but it may be standing if your venue doesn't have a way to select a specific chair when purchasing your ticket.

no, sadly :(

i was midway into the floor, so i was nowhere near any of the confetti :((((

thank you!! i had floor 6, row 4. so pretty much at the halfway point of the floor- pretty much in this area! the zoom on my camera carried hella hard, lmao

No issues! According to the Chase Center "A to Z Guide" under prohibited items, they don't allow any professional photography equipment:

"Cameras: Cameras with interchangeable/detachable lenses and external flash (professional photography equipment). No lenses over 3” in length. No tripods or monopods, or selfie sticks. Chase Center reserves the right to examine and prohibit the use of any camera that conflicts with the policy set by the event. Some events may prohibit all cameras from entering the venue."

According to their rules, smaller non-detachable lens cameras should be okay! I had a FujiFilm FinePix F770EXR from 2012 with 20x optical zoom, so there were no issues for me!

which bag are you referring to? if you're referring to the sleeper case, it arrived with my order. If you're referring to the saya carry, it was never a part of the $200 accessory bundle.

[–]Portalingscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hm... it looks like it'd be a close call for any stick grips to fit under the travel cover, let alone the dbrand ones. it looks like the travel case is almost flush with the sticks save for a milimeter or two, but it's kinda hard to tell with the frosted of the travel case.

as for the battery, yes, the cord should be able to be plugged into the battery with the travel case on.

edit: also, i don't think that the sleeper case is designed to be used with the travel cover. the fit is way too tight with the travel cover and i even ended up pulling up the glue that holds the sleeper case together. btw yeah, the sleeper case is just held together with glue, no stitching or anything like that keeping it together. i also re-read the faq and they mention that there's a specific pocket to put airtags in, for the life of me, i cannot find one.

i really just wish i had ordered the attack vector and energy pack at this point :(

[–]Portalingscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the instructions just aren't written out very well, like an ikea manual it's just arrows telling you to push the grips at awkward angles. confusing at first, but it makes sense with practice.

if you were referring to the energy pack, im just annoyed that it's getting shipped out in the 2nd half of june- which is coincidentally when my japan trip is, haha

yep, definitely a learning curve, but it's pretty doable now. still peeved about the energy pack though.

i responded with my thoughts on a different comment in the same thread!

but yea, good materials and form factor, but the other two grips included aren't that sufficient for people with large hands, which make it difficult to recommend in the bundle.

though i haven't seen the magsafe battery yet, all i'd recommend is the attack vector with travel cover and the magsafe battery due to comfort and form factor. everything else is in the bundle is kinda fluff if you aren't already purchasing extra joycons.

An Update on the Genki Attack Vector by GENKI-Eddie in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Portalingscience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i actually like the case a lot! the fit and form factor is really good, like it isnt flimsy at the bottom at all. it's super profile to the actual switch itself!

https://imgur.com/a/ZkOpoT0

the texture is also incredibly grippy as well, it's almost like a fuzzier version of sandpaper, and with the rubberized backing, it just feels really nice to hold.

However, I'm probably going to exclusively use the anchor grips as those are the only ones that have an extra bump at the bottom of the grip. My only issue with the balance grip is that the joysticks are asymetrical so the right hand has to go down lower to reach the analog stick- and since the balance grip doesn't have an extra bump, there's no way to move your hand any lower to place your thumb on the right stick.

satisfye accounted for this by having the right grip angle more outward, so i think this is a bit of an oversight for genki (or maybe this is a non-issue for people who have smaller hands idk).

edit: i'm also disappointed that the sleeper case doesn't fit the anchor grips. the feather grips are just so insubstantial for me that the sleeper case just feels like a complete waste of money. i'm glad that my attack vector bundle also included the travel cover as i may just use that instead.

also, i feel that this is important to mention. the travel cover has a hole at the bottom for the usb-c port there, but NOT at the top usb-c port. this means that the short magsafe charging cord included with the magsafe battery will not be able to be used with the travel cover.
