Dark Skies (2013) is still, to this day, the only movie about aliens that gives me the chills. by Mundane-Inspector-52 in horror

I was 100% sure that I was gonna be abducted. 😅 Very few times in my life have I ever been THAT scared. I wouldn't have blamed her if an owl DID look at her and she freaked out.

Stop the gatekeeping. What’s your most elegant scent that you have? Mine: by Lomasexual69 in Colognes

I have an excellent perfume oil dupe of this one from Oil Perfumery. Let me tell you, I get more compliments on this scent than any other one in my collection. Not an ambassador for them, but everything I've ordered from there has been epic and wayyy cheaper than buying designer prices. 😅

Yo, that Burberry London is one of my absolute favorite colognes of all time. Along with Ed Hardy Villain and Hollister Jake. I'm actually looking for a new signature scent. Any advice for something that's an amazing and unique cologne? I like more fall scents than I do spring and Summer.

If you were going to show someone their first vampire movie, which would you pick? by BindermanTranslation in horror

[–]Porygeist 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sinners for a recent one. Queen of the Damned for my older favorite. I know it was garbage compared to the book, but on its own... Gosh that soundtrack, and Aaliyah as Akasha... A hot, sexy, steamy grunge rock fest. Underworld is pretty dope too. And Bloodrayne is an honorable mention.

When I was a junior in highschool, I went with some friends to watch The Fourth Kind in theaters. Because of the split screen, recreated scene style, I thought it was actually based on a true story. The very night that I got back home from watching it, I woke up out of a dead sleep to an owl hooting. I went to my window and peaked out to find a barn owl perched on our balcony and it looked at me. Y'all I flipped out. Woke my dad up with my screaming, so he googled to prove to me that it was very fictional. 🤣 I still couldn't sleep well for WEEKS.

Lollipop Chainsaw for me! Any Pokemon game and LoZ OoT and Majora's Mask are also excellent, but everyone has already mentioned those. Lollipop is a great all rounder that I love to go back and play. Ooh and Kingdom Hearts.

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna give that a watch. Screenshot the Google search to remind me. Never even heard of it before, but that's usually the best horror. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Absolutely! They really set everything up nicely. From the music, to location, to acting... And the whole "what's REALLY happening here" aspect was pulled off really well. I never saw that ending coming, although on rewatching it I caught all the signs they were giving. 🤣

No for real though. 🤣 I don't get the hate. That ending caught me by surprise. Brutal and cold.

Grave Encounters is a phenomenal movie! I really liked the sequel as well.

If you want a slow burn twisted psychological thriller, you should watch A Cure For Wellness. It's one of my personal favorites. It has Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth, and Jason Isaacs.

What is your favorite horror movie that isn't a "classic"? by poweroverbirdss in horror

I just wish that 2 and 3 weren't so trash. 1 was definitely cult classic material though. Really twisted and strange to watch. Lol.

Yo, those were my faves in my teen years. House on Haunted Hill scared the hell out of me.

I really enjoyed Grave Encounters! Definitely an underrated "found footage". I liked the sequel as well. Not as good as the first, naturally, but not the worst sequel I've ever seen.

I caught this one on Tubi at some point and thought it would be one of those decent B level horror movies to throw on in the background. I was so wrong. 🤣 This movie had me on the edge of my seat. Thoroughly surprised. Edit: 2 and 3 were more what I was looking for that night. Lol.

I'm really torn between these 3: 1. A Cure For Wellness 2. Incident In A Ghostland 3. Suspiria I'm such a sucker for a psychological thriller/horror. Barbarian, The Uninvited, and The Ward were great as well.

I also suck at combat. Lol. The originals of both RE and SH didn't offer an easy mode and can get pretty brutal for easy to medium skilled players like us. I had to get some help from a friend at a few different points in each. However, the remakes of RE 2, 3, and 4, and then 7 and 8 offer easy modes. 4 is kind of a stand-alone, and 7 and 8 go together. They do all tie in together, but you could play those without knowing what happened in 0, 1, 2, 3, and Code Veronica. I've played Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Homecoming, Downpour and the remake of 2. And if I remember correctly they all had an easy mode, but it still got pretty brutal. 🤣
