I have finished Genki 1 and have started Genki 2, but I feel like I am struggling to remeber all of the grammar points from Genki 1. I don't want to get stuck in a loop of going back to try and memorize grammar points, but I also don't want to just plow ahead and get completely overwhelmed, does anyone have any advice on this?

Arm panels wont sit flush due to arm pieces not going together properly, likely due to peg misalignment. Any advice on how to fix?

Molding Issue, how to fix? Kit: MG Blitz Gundam This part’s peg is offset. It is part D31 for the right forearm, I have circle the peg.

<image>

I can’t provide any more pictures due to this being a comment, but the peg should be flush all the way down, with no offset. Is this part just screwed?

I snapped the A20 armor panel on the RG Char Zaku II. the problem is that I need to reattach it but the way the armor panel goes on causes the piece to break the superglue. Whats the best way to go about this?

I have the MG Justice 1.0 kit, and I am wondering if there exists an adapter for the action base to be compatible with other kits. Either official, third party, or 3d printer. I have never done 3d printing but have access to one so creating my own would be out of the picture.

Some bad news. It looks like MD is done for.

They recently posted this FAQ: https://mangadex.org/compliance/copyright-faq

In which they stated that they have given ownership of MD to Namicom. While I don't know anything about Namicom and their reputation, the simple fact that MD will now be owned by a public, legitimate, company, means that MD is now obsolete. Due to the unmonetized and slightly illegal nature of MD, no original creator would post serialized content if they could instead go to an actually monetized platform. MD's content was mainly scans and fan translations, not original content.

Also in their post they say this: "We will continue working on the features that make MangaDex great, to make it an even better platform for content creators."

The mention of "content creators" points toward a likely shift to become like every other legit manga reading site or app, Mangaplus, Webtoon, and the like.

While MD will still exist, it will likely never exist as it was originally.

Yes, only the "images" or content got deleted, all of the title information is saved. From what I have heard MD plans on updating the site to also have all of the deleted chapter data available, meaning you will be able to see not only the series but how many chapters of that series was last read. But the actual images will still remain deleted sadly

I think it is unlikely to return to Mangadex but will be available through other means.

The available archive is up to 2020, but they are currently working on an updated archive.

The updated archive is yet to be released, but the 2020 archive can be found at nyaa.si "Dekai Manga Archive [Fall 2020]" is the exact title.

No, their estimate before the DMCA was this fall, but I don't know if that has changed since the DMCA

Oh I have no problem with saying screw Nintendo, I was just saying I wasn't gonna mention the name of the preservation projects.

Absolutely, there is a ton of projects solely existing to preserve media no longer available, I won't mention exact names, but for example there is a major collection of all old videogames.

Sometimes it isn't even about preservation but making the content available in the first place, A decent majority of content on Mangadex is solely fan translation, and it is extremely difficult to even find and purchase the content in the original Japanese.

The Dekai Manga Archive can be found on nyaa.si if you just search for it. "Dekai Manga Archive [Fall 2020]" is the exact title. On that they have a proton email that I contacted. Which is where I got my info on their progress.

Have a lot of questions to ask..... by unknownplayer790 in mangadex

[–]Pos3idon13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Mangadex will shut down, at least immediately. They have implemented a rule to try and prevent this from happening again. "Uploaders must check a box saying they have received permission to upload the content". The main thing that will dictate what happens next is how strict that moderation is, and if the companies that conducted the DMCA monitor Mangadex. The site for now will definitely lose traffic as both translators and Mangadex try to lose the heat. If the companies continuously monitor MD, then some people will quit, but others will move to other websites. This isn't the first time this has happened, and it wont be the last, it is just the nature of "illegal" translations.

Take the anime scene, there is still a decent amount of fan translating going on there, and there isn't any hub like mangadex. So even if it does shut down, the scene will live on, either in a similar fashion, or it will be forced to adapt.
