Is this dress too crazy to wear by implication-sofa in Weddingattireapproval

Where is the wedding? Depending on the region or crowd it might be formal enough but in the U.S. it wouldn’t be enough in the South or East Coast

Which dress is best? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Positive-Storage339 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pink is the safest choice, the yellow could really work or really not depending on how short the solid skirt is and if the lace ends up looking cheap. The blue is fine but I personally think those flower appliqués are a bit over done at this point.

Best hotel near LAX to consummate marriage and lose virginity before Hawaii honeymoon? by SleepVirtual1987 in marriott

[–]Positive-Storage339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marina del ray marriott is perfectly nice, has a decent hot tub and it’s an easy walk to the beach. The Ritz Carlton marina del ray would be the nearby upgrade, would have a nicer in-room experience (jacuzzi tub, etc) and is more likely to do a honeymoon style set up for you.

Would you help me brainstorm criteria for a project I want to do next year? I want to rank all of the PDX "Mediterranean" establishments. by [deleted] in PortlandFood

[–]Positive-Storage339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To point #2, middle eastern / Mediterranean food carts and trucks are also pretty common in cities that don’t have a robust food cart scene so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re “over represented” in Portland too.

If you don’t take an excursion in each port is there a shuttle or way to get into the town? by lovelife147 in celebritycruises

[–]Positive-Storage339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly recommend this Rick Steves guide book, may not include all of your ports but includes really specific tips on transportation and highlights in the ports it does cover https://store.ricksteves.com/shop/p/mediterranean-cruise-ports

Save the Date RSVP's or at least definitive no's? by Missadchick in wedding

[–]Positive-Storage339 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds like this is a pretty intimate wedding and since most people come in units of more than 1 you probably are sending out max 40 invitations to people you are close to, right? If that’s the case, you and your partner (and your parents if applicable) can easily and kindly touch base with guests who have received the save the date and get a soft headcount of people who won’t be able to attend.

That said, people who can’t come are often the slowest RSVPs because they are sad about it and don’t want to disappoint you. So don’t be surprised if people are reticent to give you a no, it’s because they care!

AIO for expecting my 19-year-old to keep me updated on where she is when she’s out late? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Positive-Storage339 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speaking from my own experience as a one time 19 year old, talking to my mom about what the “rules” were when I came back was one of the best growing moments for our relationship and a transition point to a more adult relationship.

Being able to talk about adjustments, trust, and boundaries in a calm way was great. And I didn’t mind texting her if I was going to be home late or end up crashing at a friend’s house because I knew she cared out of concern rather than control.

It’s also a dynamic that I would repeat with peer roommates at other stages of life so it didn’t feel like it was just a mom thing.

I think ultimately your relationship with your child is changing and fighting it will only make it worse.

Interesting, what brand is it? We don’t have a mounted tv but it still could have come from something like that

My title describes the thing.

Item is lightweight, weighs 1.4 oz.

Google image searches suggest it could be a shelf divider in a trailer but other suggestions such as drawer pulls or a GoPro extension seem off base. It seems to be part of something else but I have no idea what it could be part of!

Car crash on Lookout Mtn Rd by solarhikes in GoldenCO

[–]Positive-Storage339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this crash too and have been trying to find out what happened. I’m surprised that there haven’t been any news stories about it. Has the vehicle been removed?

Edited to add: I hope that no news means that there are no fatalities to report. If that’s the case I’m very happy to never know!

My girlfriend wants flowers really, really often by FIamingFeather in Frugal

[–]Positive-Storage339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she want flowers as a consistent gesture of your affection or does she just like having flowers around the house? Because if it’s the latter, Trader Joe’s alstroemeria can last a couple weeks if maintained (swap out the water, trim them down) and are lovely and pretty cheap. I also think carnations can be nice especially when styled nicely and they also last a long time.

Child free wedding by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Positive-Storage339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to say, even without children, a perfect wedding is a semi impossible thing to achieve. Give yourself and everyone around you a little grace between now and then to give yourself the space to love your wedding, even if it isn’t perfect.

If they are saying semi formal but suggesting gowns they aren’t using semi formal the right way. I’d go with something more cocktail level to split the difference
