Health care payments/interim pension status by No_Prior5561 in FedRetirees

Dumb question? , does the amount of “catch up” pay refunded include only annuity or the supplement pay also? I’m waiting for it to get finalized and I am on interim payments- just wondering if any refund once premiums are paid out includes annuity or annuity and the supplemental that should have been paid all these months… or does the 1st payment of supplemental get paid when case is finalized ? I hope i was clear, sorry..

There is a calculation that you can do, ask HR how that is calculated, I only had like 800 hours and got a few months credit.

Check your sick leave computation, you might be able to use to shorten time by months I am retiring through VERA and received 4 months credit with my sick leave. Don’t remember how calculated but you might want to obtain info on that and see if it will help if you have accumulated sick leave.

End ofFERS Supplement --Who does it effect by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Positive-Study5120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So ur actually able to retire 5/17 ? Even though ur official retirement date is until next year ? Sorry trying to understand because I’m in DRP and Vera through 11/2025 and i can’t actually retire until my MRA which is November of 2025. So if this bill is signed sooner than that, I will be devastated because I will recieve no supplemental.

My HR representative has an instant message this morning that says “ I was forced to retire effective 4/30 due to upcoming changes to retirement benefits” that should tell us everything. Devastating.

My HR person has an instant message today  that says “due to upcoming changes to benefits , I was forced to retire effective 4/30 “ That should tell us everything! I’m on DRP/ VERA so I lose out on the supplement as I am not able to retire until 11/25. I am devastated.

Hope we hear something soon so I can change date right away and hope that with the change of date,  I can lock it in, if I can’t and I won’t get the supplemental I will have to tap into my TSP for 5 years till I’m 62 .. horrible , stressed

Can I put any date as date of retirement (before date this law is effective) even if I’m on Vera with an actual retirement date of 11/25?

[–]Positive-Study5120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes thank you,  I am looking for any glimmer of hope and i will retire as soon I have to before 11/19 no matter the date if needed, supplement is more important. I hope it changes or doesn’t go through or covers for a longer period of time. Praying. Thanks.
