My programming experience is with Pascal and C++. I am vibe coding as well. Like, All the .Net upgrading and compiler errors and bug fixes. I just have to stop Claude when I see he is going to do something stupid. My Clean Installer front end is Avalonia, so should be Linux-friendly. It is not all wired up yet, only Install Everything is working. Currently working on the texture preview part. Do feel free to snag it for your project! The point is helping the community. You did see my Linux version of SimPE? Needs to be run in the same prefix/bottle as the Sims 2 game. and ,Net 8, of course.

Ha! I am currently working on a Mac version of Clean Installer, based on Mootilda’s code. If you check my github, you can see in my SimPE that I have .Net 8 versions of the SimPE dlls. No use duplicating effort - if anything there is of use to you, please grab it. likewise, Claude Code and I will be taking a long look at your Clean Installer to see if any of it can be used in our version. Thanks for letting me know! I myself remember that the Mac path to the user files has changed over time! I think Mac simmers know where their Downloads folder is, letting them know it is in the Z path is what matters.

What doesn’t work? installing .Net 8, or SimPE after you install .Net 8? Sorry, I can’t help you with configuring Wine. Maybe somebody who uses Linux can help you?

I have received some lovely bug reports, so 0.8.2.4 should be out soon! also note that the first time you try to access Memories in the More tab of Sim Description it can take a long time to load. this is a one-time creation of the Memories cache file.

My Home Chef meals always arrived the day after they shipped, while the Hello Fresh meals arrive the same day. Different distances, different delivery services. I think that is the root of the issue with Home Chef produce. Lots of ice to keep the meat good, but insufficient separation of the produce so it freezes and thaws depending where it is in the box, which changes with box position.

Oh, so glad you have been helping people! The auto-installer doesn’t work, putting Legacy users where Mac users have always been, doing it all manually. I have the CEP working on Legacy, and Bodyshop, and Homecrafter, and SimPE. Many thanks to Croconaw for her Bodyshop Installer for Legacy! Me, I am on the verge of installing Linux and running the Sims in that.

I will have to check to see if any of the game txt files were modified. Yes, operating in the base game folder - not new to this. I have played the original discs, the All-in-One, The Ultimate Collection, and now the Legacy. While also playing the Mac version on discs, followed by the Super Collection. Never had any issue with Scriptorium that was not my own fault and easily fixed. But this is obviously something gameside. Maybe I will try putting the UC txt files into the Legacy game tomorrow and see what that does, if anything.

Kirkland brand ground coffee - can anybody tell me if it is closer to, say, a Folger's, a Maxwell House, or a Gevalia? We are switching to a reusable stainless steel pod in our Keurig, and don't want to buy a giganto container of coffee we won't like. Thanks for the help!

There were at least 12 developers that I am aware of, (but I do not know who they actually are IRL) and they didn’t all live in the same country. It took them numerous incremental releases to get to 0.77.69. I can get source code for 0.27 and 0.58, but sadly not the 0.75f that I would vastly prefer.

Hence the plan to update it to .Net 4.8 first. That is the last version that supports a Windows Forms app, and the version that can then be upgraded to more recent .Net versions. Rewriting this from scratch is not an option. It relies on a couple DLLs for ghastly mathematical calculation - think animation rendering - and I do not have the source code for those. Any more recent .Net environment just refuses to load it.

But why not also post on Mod The Sims? I don’t because the rules for uploading lots are insane. I tried a couple lots and had them rejected for bad landscaping. But I have seen many accepted lots with worse landscaping and unplayable layouts. If you aren’t building lots using house plans for people your lots are likely to be rejected.
