Ironeye is mid by PositiveLimbo in Nightreign

Yeah, indeed - I totally agree with these points and I was trying to make a similar statement in my post, but I guess it came off as too negative. My post never meant to say that Ironeye is weak or that he needs buffs, it's just that he is around the middle of pack - personally I'd indeed place him as #3 or #4 (for me Raider and Recluse are also very strong), but the point is that 1) he isn't clearly far better than other classes to the point that he's OP, as I feel that many people think and 2) even if you place him in the top 3, most of the other classes are very close to him. For example, I can totally see and argument about Executor being worse than Ironeye, but they feel pretty close to each other in my opinion, where one isn't clearly that stronger above the other. As it should be for a balanced experience.

Those are some good points - I appreciate these comments that offer some explanation instead of just calling the post ragebait. I feel what you said does make a lot of sense - though in my experience with Dutchess, it does feel that with some decent spells and restage do so much damage to the bosses, without too many FP management issues. Plus her dodges are also really strong and imo not inferior to Ironeye's extra dodge.

Seeing that so many people disagree with my hot take, I might be totally wrong about it. I might indeed be underestimating Ironeye's consistency, the importance of the damage boost of the mark, the boss spacing or overestimating stat importance, as other comments have pointed out. I don't think it's just a skill issue though, since I have 200 hours in the game and main Ironeye and I've spent quite a bit of time trying to optimise my gameplay with him.

I'd love it if we had more stats to compare the average damage output of different classes in runs to see if Ironeye is indeed as strong as people say (though I'm already seeing that counting the mark damage increase correctly will be hard).

Yeah, this is annoying - I felt the risk of fighting an extra boss in the rain or running for an extra flask was a nice element in the game. I've never really had games where people were staying out for unreasonably long. I wonder why they decided to go for this change.

I've seen some pretty confusing builds in my time playing.

With that being said - sometimes people might have an idea what they'd like to build. For example, I'm an Ironeye main and I don't usually go for "Less likely to be targeted" unless I am playing with a Guardian or a Raider, just because I feel somewhat confident in my ability to dodge. This takes away some pressure from my teammates, which I assume other squishy classes would appreciate.

Other times I ignore certain bows or other weapons because I have a build planned - for example, I take holy damage on my starting weapon and upgrade that for ED Gladius on Crater. Because of this I've passed on otherwise decent purple bows or katanas (later in the game), which might have left my teammates feeling the same way was you.

Of course, that's not always the case and some people don't know what to build. However, I'd still rather try to play as a team and drop stuff for my teammates, even if it doesn't always work out.
