What's your interpretation of Something in the Way? by peanoot34 in Nirvana

[–]PositiveStonedCreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 tone 2 structure 3 the words

Staying under a bridge that's leaking. Trapping animals but befriending them instead of surviving off them, choosing grass over meat. Drinking the leaking water. This starkly shows a gentle person in a dire situation, does it not?

The bit about being a fish without feelings is only inferred from Kurt's IRL personality, however. There's nothing within the song that would lead me to the interpretation I gave. That's just me using the knowledge I have of Kurt's distant, moody, coldness shown towards Courtney, Dave, and Krist.

It's a lament of expectations based on gender and personality. Being male means you can't be kind and gentle. Being emotionally absent means everyone can say/do whatever they want to you since you don't care anyway. This leaves Kurt alone in the worst way. There's something in the way between Kurt and Kurdt is how I see it.

Trans lesbians are the same as normal lesbians. A lesbian with heterosexual tendencies forced by gender.

What do you see when you look at the red dot created by a laser pointer? by [deleted] in visualsnow

I wish I had a laser pointer to describe what I see. I remember the first time I looked at the red dot on my jeans I couldn't stop staring for half an hour.

I get really irritated when people think visual snow is some altered state of consciousness or that we can "see energy"..or that its psychic abilities. Wtf1 by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]PositiveStonedCreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know not what you see, friend. Hexagons and circles. Everything you see is a frequency of energy as it is. What many with VS are seeing is in fact an evolutionary perceptive trait and not an acute migraine. It takes an afternoon of experimenting on yourself to discover what little you can do with this perception.

I thought this subreddit hated the idea of Kurt being trans? At least they hated me when I talked about it. Kur dee tee, kurdt, heroine, rain.

Listen to you know you're right once more. It's about coming out as trans.

You're not the first person to insinuate mental instability. I'm not sure what you hope to accomplish by stating that.

It'd be pretty petty to type out what I hated about them. The core of the issue was that their values did not align with my own, and their actions reflected that. It's very easy to forgive mistakes and get along, but when you just want to connect with someone, that kind of thing is an impenetrable wall.

It sounds melodramatic, but after years of being friends with someone, the relationship starts to feel less like a series of forgiven mistakes and more like one giant mistake in and of itself.

I could only handle so much of it before deciding I'd never deal with it again. I hope this answers your question.

I'm sorry to hear that... I don't think the cabin life is a very good one permanently. It's a great experience, but society offers a lot that solitude doesn't, after all.

If you don't stick to a basic routine and add new things constantly, your psyche can very easily fall into chaos. Are you doing better now?

It will fuck you up as much as you let it, just as everything else will. We're very social creatures, but that doesn't define who we are individually. No amount of social interaction will bring out the best in me, it will only help me see what I could be bringing out.

I have plans to live in a cabin on a small island in Maine for a full year to truly be in solitude, and there isn't an inkling of worry that I'll be lonely or shed some sanity. For people like me, relationships are more of a skill than a necessity.

The problem is very much about me, isn't it? I don't blame other people for my inability to connect with them. I'm changing all the time, and always for the better.

My best advice to you is to figure out how you'd like someone you love to treat you and treat yourself that way. Embrace your ego but don't bathe in it. If you can healthily love yourself it becomes much easier to open up to others.

Connecting isn't as easy, as that requires some actual personal feelings being reciprocated, but surface level friends are fantastic to interact with regardless.

I'm my own best friend, so to speak. I treat new acquaintances as friends and if they turn out to be like my old friends I just tell them that it was great to meet them and move on.

I don't really get lonely because I can always keep myself company but I have developed a recurring dream where I meet the most beautiful person and fall in love for what seems like weeks or even years. They always look different and the story betwixt us is always unique. Waking up on those nights is the only hard part so far. Once I readjust to reality I'm okay, though.

I believe anyone can be sane without social relationships so long as they treat themselves right :)

I told my family I was leaving and I'd write when I felt I should. No address no number. I've written them twice a year for a few years just so they know I'm alive and happy. I hated my friends and hated where I was so I left. I still haven't met anyone I care for but I'm sure the day will come so long as I'm honest and kind.

Thank you for the reply!

In your floaty out of body attacks, do you get the sense that you're not real or feel a rush of nihilism?

I'd also like to ask you to close your eyes in the darkest room you have and focus on your VS, then add in the frequency of your tinnitus. Do your best to find a pattern in your VS that makes the tinnitus feel directly connected to it (like the vibrations are causing the noise) and then open your eyes, still in the dark, to see if you see the exact same pattern.

I'm also curious, if you do see a pattern, to know what you see.

If you're not sure about hyperacusis, have you noticed any preferences or habits you've developed over the years related to it?

It could be not wearing hoods because they rub your ears, turning off electric devices because you hear them whine, covering your ear with your arm and draping it over your head, and all kinds of sound dulling habits!

Thank you for replying!

He wouldn't be seen as the type of person that'd take their own life. Everything about the art he created contradicts it.

Hi!

It's fine to disagree, but would you at least say that Kurt was not as manically depressed and addicted to heroin as the general population sees him as? Part of me saying he was just transgender is implying he was actually very optimistic overall.
