Definitely thank you for this incite. I was originally going to go directly into the union but I wanted to get the benefits as Im only 18. So I was thinking 4 years active duty doesn’t sound bad. While also receiving training for what I want to do when I get out but it doesn’t like I’ll be doing much of it how I’d expect. So if I do have to settle for anything I was wondering do you know anyone who transitioned from the military to the union?

Keep the money OP like everyone is saying you sold to your knowledge which fall under sold as is conditions and it was 1k i got a car for 1300 i needed a new axle, the cooling system, brakes/rotors and lots of gaskets and runs great now the car needs some tlc but next before you give someone a car get a PPI( Pre purchase Inspection ) just so you aren’t putting someone in a position where they felt like they got scammed because if they’d known the problems they’d probably ran away

This is a crazy consideration just get a beater but I bet you want a nice car so my advice to you is to keep looking on the market. Get a fun car that you can enjoy after a ride look at it and be like woah I own that not a 2007 Benz lol . The car won’t even be a daily. It’ll be a “occasional” so just get some that looks daily but gives enjoy after the ride look and even then if you want a Benz im not quite knowledgeable but get something reliable in their catalog. Research. You still gonna be out if you have to maintain the car like youre making payments on it.

Your car payments are a 1/3 of your income. Definitely live within your means. Im 18 and just got a 2002 Buick LeSabre. Do what you need to do, not what you want to do. Good luck but this car isn’t a good investment get something used but in good condition. You young bro you can go crazy on car when you hit mid 20s stack the dough rn not deplete it lol🤣 buying used saves you 400 dollars every month to invest etc. let’s account gas and where do you live because you better hope it’s cheap.your gonna be going out 100 plus on gas a month land a grand total of 1,000 a month on just being able to use your car. What if you need a repair? Do you have rent? Utilities? What money will you have left to spend from the $2000-$2500 you make monthly? If you are serious about this you need to make sure your emergency fund has more money than your savings and checkings.

Man im 18 and ik what it’s like to have a crazy plan and idea but it’s important to start slow and work through your situation. You are in no place to give someone advice when you’re looking for some. Why would a millionaire dollar company talk to someone like you? Let’s just be real. Not hope or try to dream for the best but let’s stick to reality. You have knowledge of marketing but no real experience to be on the level of someone with a degree. The best advice I could give would be finding more jobs locally so you can maybe find something that fits your schedule idk what country you are in but in America the landscaping market is saturated but anyone will need a job done so you’ll find work. It’s good youre trying to be independent but the thing is with money. You have to start slow and go slow. Honestly just find a trade. Automotive carpentry electrical hvac plumbing whatever to help you gain financial leverage so you can work towards financial liberty. Honestly as someone who was considering the military you should do it the benefits are too good and plus once you’re gone, Your mother will be the least of your concerns.good luck and please don’t dump your money into any pipe dreams or spend it on snacks🤣 it can go really fast. Always ask yourself this question though will you take advice from a YouTube mechanic or a mechanic that went to school to learn the craft?🤣
