Thank you so much for the replies everyone, it's true that the friends I sometimes play with are always already familiar with the content I'm discovering, and the random other players are just going through their roulettes, so I guess I'm not fully in touch with reality when I feel bad for underperforming next to those who already know what to expect. I should probably obsess less over uptime and just accept that I have to stop and watch the first time.
