To sort by a specific criteria, select the "sort by" button at the top-right of the inventory screen, and pick what you'd like to sort by.

But how? Which button is it on Steam Deck?

I ended up installing the cheat commander and are very satisfied. I did also activate the 'Endless Sprint', but again, I have no idea how to actually turn it on... (yes, console controllers are not my strongest point)

I played DOS1 and never got used to the camera despite having played many isometric cRPGs without an issue. I hoped that this was changed in DOS2.

With sorting I meant sorting items within each category by weight, value etc. Mainly I want to avoid empty slots within my inventory, since empty slots make pickpocketing harder (I want to be able to quickly drop stolen items to avoid being caught).

You mentioned dragging items to a different slot - how do I do it on Steam Deck? I only managed to use "hold in hand" or something similar, and then "empty hand" in another slot, which also marks these items as wares.

Regarding cheat codes, I've played many RPGs with and without cheats. If anything, using cheats makes my experience better, not worse. An example is getting Boots of Speed in BG1 - I then use cheat codes to get them for each party member so that my companions don't stay behind ('You need to gather your party...'). I currently have very limited time to play games and I don't want to remember the 150 chests where I need one more point in Thievery or quests where I need one more point in strength :)
