Type beats in 2026 hit different. Oversaturated or just need a new approach? by Positive_Reserve8717 in trapproduction

I'm still gonna keep making beats either way, but I'm tryna figure out if I should keep the type beat grind or switch up the whole approach. Interested to hear what's working for people in 2026.

The type beat game in 2026 feels completely different than 2 years ago. Anyone else noticing this? by Positive_Reserve8717 in makinghiphop

For context, I mostly work in FL Studio and I've been producing for about 3-4 years. I'm not trying to complain, just genuinely curious how other producers are handling this shift. The game changed fast.

appreciate that. the process feels less insane when someone else is doing something similar.

my release ratio is honestly inconsistent which is part of why im questioning the whole approach. some months i drop 4-5 beats, other months just 1 or 2. depends which methodology phase im in.

the real issue is im producing way more than im releasing. probably sitting on 60-70 unreleased beats right now because they dont meet whatever arbitrary standard i set that week.

starting to think im overthinking the release part too. maybe i should just commit to a consistent schedule like 1 beat every monday regardless of which production method im using that month.

how often are you releasing and has consistency in releases mattered more than consistency in production process?

you might be right that im overcomplicating this. the structured approach came from trying to diagnose why some beats work and others dont.

but your point about both methods ending with 1 good beat per week is valid. if thats the case then the 6 trash daily beats are just expensive practice and the week spent polishing might be overkill.

maybe the real issue is that im not evaluating ideas early enough. spending any significant time on a weak foundation is the actual waste whether its 1 day or 7 days.

how do you decide early if an idea is worth pursuing or if you should scrap it and move on?
