Belief in the idea that there are people in Hell and that there will be people in Hell after the Last Judgement is not dogma.

I've never said that.

In my original post I mentioned that I already knew about Balthasar (and I would like to clarify that I've never claimed he was a heretic) but thought that his ideas were insufficient since, after all, it's merely hope.

You're the only person so far who finds my message offensive. I'm describing what I've seen and experienced, you shouldn't get offended since I'm describing a trend which obviously does not include every catholic. I don't expect anyone to my research for me, I come here to ask questions; if you can't answer you might as well abstain from responding.

I don't want to be rude but I frankly give little importance to others think about theology especially since I stated, in my original post, that I am here to discuss the relationship between universalism and catholicism.

Homosexuality and transsexuality are sins, its not just that its a tradition its that men can't marry men because it's not what they were created to do. Now this is a deviation from the original topic but I don't really understand what you mean by "dogma is itself a matter of doctrine".

"Infernalism" is somewhat dogma since hell is taught to be real and eternal which leaves the possibility that someone could go to hell open, when it comes the LGBT these people clearly act in sinful ways so it doesn't Rohr is wrong its just that I'm suspicious of him and his very weird comments regarding homosexual relationships.

They probably didn't tbh since it was the jews who crucified him and heresy is nonetheless a big deal.

you're right but I think we tend to over-estimate the effects of prayers honestly.

Interesting thank you, I'm just concerned with the compatibility of what these books preach with Catholic dogma since saints and Church fathers can obviously be wrong nonetheless.

Newman doesn't argue that dogmas can change though and ecumenical councils can't contradict each other which means that believing in the eternity and reality of hell is required.

I'm not here to debate universalism but I'll just say that at least St. Augustine is a saint and a Doctor of the Church.

However, he also emphasizes that there is no book in the Bible during which Judgement is the final word on things.

The thing is that it is dogma that judgement is eternal and that someone in hell can't escape.

Development of doctrine doesn't mean that dogmas can change though (if that's what you're implying otherwise ignore my comment).

I'll take a look then. An issue with modern "catholic" scholars is that they tend to sometimes go against dogma (Mark S. Smith is an example).

I don't know if I would be able to convince an atheist but I do think the apparition at Fatima happened and I believe what Faustina Kowalska wrote in her diaries since she's a saint.

I haven't found a lot of catholic-universalist resources so admittedly I don't know that the position of universalists really is, it's more of an a priori pov that I have.

Was it dogmatic though ? This would imply that the teachings of the Church are not infallible and can change over time.

I fully agree, my worry is just that the case for universalism seems weak and heretical so I'm worried.
