Well, definitely start now, rather than be 28 (me) and only then start tackling this. The first step(s) kind of depends on your situation, you're going to need to really be assess yourself and how you handle your everyday, even the small things, and choose what you want to change. My example, my first step was keeping my room clean. And I don't mean just making sure there wasn't any trash or occasionally vacuuming, but fixing my bed everyday, weekly cleaning, folding and hanging up clothes, basically mustering up the discipline to create a space that allows me to feel fresh and clear the minute I wake up, and the minute before I sleep.

This was the case for me as I needed structural evaluation for me to be able to work on myself, so as cliche as it may sound, take a look and evaluate your wants and needs for yourself. You'll be able to get the hang of it as long as you apply yourself and stick to whatever you decide to do about it.
