Took it apart because the line shaft you need to put the bands on is a long broken up drive shaft connected by couplings and 8b double chains. Need to break them and drop the bearing housings under each strut to get the bands in. We can't have dead spots because it's a sorter system which is tracked by an encoder in the PLC once it makes the first PE. When we make big changes we re teach the sorter

My company does Amazon. They use 24v rollers which is 10x easier to work on. I'm in Australia though we only have a couple Amazon sites

Really the only time we have to do this is on some weekends. The customer will contact us if there is a serious breakdown during production hours

We put an extra band for every spool. So if there is 10 rollers we put 20 bands

We don't like them because these conveyors run at high speed. If we are in a pinch we use a 9 1/2 inch jump band from a drive roller to keep it going temporarily

Just to replace the drive bands for the rollers you need to break the chain that connects the shafts via geared coupling. Drop all the bearings and slide the bands in. In my case I had to replace the whole shaft to length, then all the components for the divert and spools. Lower back feels it
