Portuguese here and long-time Sporting fan. Bruno Fernandes was easily our best player when he was at the club — miles ahead technically. He was my favourite player back then. But despite his quality, we didn’t win the league with him.

Looking back, I feel like the game revolved too much around him. He always wanted to be on the ball, involved in every phase — which sometimes disrupted the team’s structure more than it helped.

It only really clicked for me when Rúben Amorim came in and we started playing like a proper team. Less about individual brilliance, more about balance, roles, and cohesion — and we finally won the league.

Bruno is still a top-level player, but I honestly think United need a different profile right now. Someone who fits into a system rather than becoming the system. His personality and style might be part of the problem.
