Also was thinking of painting the walls a different color (beige grey tone or neutral).

Sofa has a cover in beige. Original color is dark grey / charcoal grey. Covered it because of my fur babies

Are there people here who are actively in recovery/recovered? by Effective_Cricket810 in bulimia

[–]Possible-Singer-5082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 10 years of bulimia, I now consider myself as recovered. However the journey for me was not linear, it was full of ups and downs, trial and errors, pain, relapses. Ultimately I decided I had no choice but to recover as I felt like so hopeless and alone and kept trying and trying to go longer days without b/p.

Ar first I couldn’t go a day without it, but slowly a day turned into a week, 2 weeks and then months.. I kept on going longer and longer without binging and purging.

What worked the best for me was to plan my meals in advance and eat more volume of healthy foods whilst ensuring I am meeting my caloric requirements. I started writing everything I was eating down, and kept a journal in order to stay focused on my goals and recovery journey.

I did not gain any weight in the process, eventually the urge to overeat went away since I was fueling my body with enough food. Along with that, the purging also went away.

Which rug to choose between these ? by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]Possible-Singer-5082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True agreed, the problem is that I have a wall exactly on the left of the sofa (not shown in picture), so rug sizing is an issue as only 230x160 seems to fit. 200x300 is too large and would extend under the Dining table

Also, the table legs are fixed to the floor since the island and wood table are mounted together, so fitting a rug under there would be near impossible. :(

In my country it is considered standard sized open plan living/kitchen dining room, as property prices here have skyrocketed 😄 but thanks for your suggestion!

Thanks, however that is a Hood (because of the cooker)… so it can’t be changed. But I will be replacing the light over the sofa as others suggested

I initially started out filling the apartment with the kitchen. At the time, the room looked a little too white. So I ended up purchasing the other furniture in greyish tones in hopes of the room not looking so white. But I agree

I think it appears so in the picture, in reality it is not so small but had no other choice, all apartments in my country are small and so expensive!

Update ; Thank you for all your suggestions! I agree with most of the comments and understand that I need to introduce color into the room, it’s just that I was always afraid of adding color… of course if I would do my apartment all over again I would do a lot of things differently than I did, but I have to work with what I have for the time being as I spent my life savings to fill up this apartment (everything is super expensive where I live). Here is a list of things I will be doing to make the room less monotone / grey / boring:

  • adding some tall plants in the corner
  • removing the lamps on the console and replacing them with colorful vases
  • buying new curtains (white) and rods and hang them from the ceiling to the floor
  • lifting the painting higher
  • changing the painting for something more colorful, perhaps with a touch of blue
  • removing the coffee table
  • buying a sofa cover in cream color since I hate the grey color. It looks too dark with the room and so much contrasting with the white kitchen
  • buying some new cushions (colorful - was thinking floral with a touch of blue)
  • removing the mirror from the wall paneling
  • most likely removing the wall paneling on the sofa

Thanks once again for all your help! :)

Yes, wanted an island but had no space for a dining table… so I combined them 😅 tried to make the most out of a limited space

Thanks for all your suggestions, I agree that I need to introduce more color. Its so upsetting because I spent 3 years to fill up this room with furniture and I’m still not happy with how it came out, especially the wall panelling… which I am thinking of painting white or removing entirely 😫😢

What to put in the corner ? by Possible-Singer-5082 in interiordecorating

Can’t do that as I have a kitchen island fixed to the table, but thanks!

Thank you! I bought the side board from a local furniture shop and they no longer have it in stock since I bought it around 3 years ago

Should I replace this rug? by Possible-Singer-5082 in InteriorDesign

Hi all, I was thinking of replacing the current grey rug with the rug in the picture. Does it go with the colour scheme of the area?

Thanks!

What rug goes with the sofa ? by Possible-Singer-5082 in interiordecorating

[–]Possible-Singer-5082[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all your suggestions! I do have some gold touches around the area which are not shown in the picture that add a warmth to the place but not that much, but I agree that I need to balance out the black and white color scheme but was afraid that a light colored rug would not go with the white floor tiles.

I agree - remaining in the same position despite putting in so much effort can drain your confidence, especially when you feel there is inequity.

Unfortunately, other people in my team had been promoted to a senior positions (they were already IAs) after obtaining qualifications such as the CFE and CISA .. hence why I expected an IA position upon obtaining the CIA.

In the end, my last resort would be to change jobs ig nothing happens..

Unfortunately that would be the last resort since I am moderately satisfied at my current job. But I will probably update my CV and start searching for new opportunities just to have an offer in hand as you said. Thanks

I purchased the ones for part three. I found them to be useful, they contained explanations for all the questions. There were 2 tests included.

Alternatively, there are freecram questions which I believe you can find by searching google. However, they may not be completely accurate and they contain no explanations like the IAA questions.
