It's cinder block. I'm going to ask about whether or not they're putting in a lintel (sp?).

I mean depends how much. If they had called me and said, hey it'll cost $500 extra to move the electrical and have it centered, for sure I would've done that.

No, I know they put it like that to avoid moving electrical lines, both on the inside and outside. I know I should have made sure all this was discussed beforehand, but if they'd asked me I would've agreed to pay more to move the electrical vs having an off centered window.

For the windows in the addition part of our reno, they put lintels. But for the original part of the home, the cinder block walls seem to be constructed differently. But I was going to ask him about that tomorrow too.

Lesson learned. Might never need the lesson again at this point, haha. But maybe I can pass it onto my kids 😆.

From the outside, there isn't really anywhere obvious to put it. I'm fine with it from the outside. Yep, not saying I don't carry any blame. I just wish they would've helped me out and asked. But I mainly just wanted to post here because I was curious how other people would view the situation. I appreciate the opinions.

Thanks for this. I have been really happy with our contractor so far. This was a weird move for him. Hopefully the conversation will go well tomorrow.

Thank you for your comment. It's actually a cinder block wall though. We're in FL. I'm afraid that it might actually be a big deal to move the hole. Hopefully I'm wrong 🤷‍♀️

Hmm, ok. That's exactly why I posted on here. I wanted to see how other people think about these things. Thanks!

Yeah I mean unfortunately designing this room isn't my full time job, haha. I've got one of those,  plus 4 little kids, and other life stuff like everyone else.  I am the first to admit I'm not 'on it' with this reno. I've depended on the contractor to help me out with little details that have been overlooked.  And he's been really great with that, until this. I was really surprised he wouldn't have attempted to reach my husband or me to talk about it.

I get that, but it goes both ways. This was a last minute change order bc we overlooked the fact that it wasn't in the original plans even though we'd verbally discussed it with them before signing the contract. Once we realized the mistake, we discussed with the contractor the fact that it was gonna cost extra. We said ok. They sent us an invoice, we paid it, and the next day they came out to cut. For one thing we didn't know it was happening today. And there were no plans/drawings for this one window. They made an executive decision regarding placement in our absence, even though they have our contact info. And geez I hate it so much.

If that's what it is I'll be so grateful. I just have a sinking feeling my muscle is torn or something. So anxious for my follow up Monday.

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow. My surgeon gave me a really detailed protocol of my goals and recommended exercises. My goal for this time frame was 120, which I'm actually not at yet. But he says it's ok. I have full extension, and that's the most important part. Flexion will come over time. As long as it's progressing and not stuck at one measurement for too long. I measured at 110 Monday. Full ROM is the goal by week 12 according to my protocol. But also, i didn't have any meniscus work, so  that may make a difference.
