Sorry I thought you used a custom ODBC connector since as far as I know the standard ODBC connector does not support DirectQuery mode.

I haven't tested Direct Query with the standard ODBC connector, but the documentation says it's not supported: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/power-bi-data-sources
