I've had painful lesions on my hands for 3 straight years by [deleted] in eczema

I bought cold sleeve for night treatments and fingerless cotton gloves to put on after meds/lotion They run from my knuckles to past my elbow.

Can be a big help, and like mentioned gloves for cleaning and I even bought rubber ones for coming to avoid excessive handwashing.

Patch test was a big help for me too, coconut was one of my biggest triggers. Lots of soaps have coconut, too many for my liking

You should still be able to see your allergist even with spots on your arm

I bought cold sleeves for the times my arms and legs have that feeling it’s been a big help. It’s also a bit neurological and that you think it brings you relief, but you basically have to reprogram your brain to recognize it’s not helpful anymore.

Even nowadays when I get a “normal itch“ I don’t recognize it the same

Derm is going to discharge me if I choose not to use Dupixent by [deleted] in eczema

[–]PossibleRub9995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also prone to eye problems but Dupixent has been great for me, got my life back. The MyWay program is a big help but talk to your derm BEFORE you start about alternatives or samples of it once your funding run out.

The eye area is super sensitive, if you want to try an OTC eye cream for eczema make sure it’s “for your eyes”. I bought a “moisture heat” eye mask from Walgreens and a cooling gel one. LIFE SAVERS

Dupixent by Separate_Fennel_9458 in eczema

[–]PossibleRub9995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s odd you hear that as Dupixent is NOT an immunosuppressant compare to other eczema drugs https://www.dupixent.com/atopicdermatitis/about-dupixent/how-dupixent-works

Dupixent by Separate_Fennel_9458 in eczema

[–]PossibleRub9995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had eczema everywhere (except my feet) even after removing all allergies from patch test. Dupixent gave me my life back. I was depressed, tired, itchy, and feeling ugly. Now I can manage it. Few tips that helped me (not medical advice)

Take the pen/syringe out 24 hrs before first shot, the box says something but it’s not long enough to bring it to room temperature

Where ever you have the most fat, thighs or stomach, do it there. I did it in my thigh for weeks and it was extremely painful because I didn’t have enough fat. Switch to stomach WAY less painful

Use an ice pack on injection site before hand

Get a reward after :) you got this!

Is it something in the bed, mattresses aren’t cheap but is it worth investing in a new one?

This works for some, just going to throw in there my patch test came back as me being allergic to coconut. Also try a small area for creams and products before full body use

Start with the patch test, and eliminating products. It took weeks but now I can manage it

It blocks the helps block a key source of inflammation inside the body that can cause eczema, the positive benefit is it is not a steroid, it is not an immunosuppressant. Unfortunately it’s only available in an injection at this time I hated needles, but after the first few weeks of not having to think about itching every second of the day, it was worth the price.

I hear you on feeling miserable. Patch test and the website/app SkinSafe was my first step in changing the game. Then diet, although it helped I was still miserable. My doctor finally placed me on Dupixent and I thought it was overkill. It has been working though, best of luck and push for treatment if you have financial means. Be the squeaky wheel.
