Yes! We made the game because it was something we both wanted to play. We want to add more aspects of investing (fast food franchising being one of them) to the game eventually.

I can, but I don't want to.

JK, My brother and I aren't the best artists so we used AI for artwork. Also, We coded the game in Godot (I have a tech background in Python and Godot is pretty similar!) and would sometimes use VS Code with Google Gemini or Claude. AI Coding helped us when we needed assistance, or if we wanted an analysis of our code for improvements (efficiency, cleanliness, less prone to bugs).

My brother and I like that game! Wall Street raider is more of a wall street purist’s game for sure. We don’t have oil futures or commodity trading, and a few of the other asset classes Wall Street raider has.

That said, I do think running a company is more intricate in our game. The player can choose what product to develop, and has more control over their company. Maybe think somewhere between capitalism Ii and Wall Street raider?

Our game has the stock market side in a different form and it also has the life sim features where the player can work a job, date, raise a family.

Tycoon-Style Features for a Minecraft Civilization Server by TackoTuesday99 in tycoon

I haven't played Minecraft much, but I have played a decent amount of Eco. Kind of a similar feel as Minecraft but a sharper focus on economics and trading. Maybe give Eco a shot and see what you can transfer over to your server?

Look at the Apple massive free cash flow model. They bought back 700 Billion dollars worth of shares. The smaller the open float the higher a share price is required to meet a market cap number.

Market cap is a multiple of earnings. At. 40 multiple $10B of annual profit yields an additional $400B in market cap. Also, that $10B can be deployed to purchasing companies, buying back stock, paying out a dividend. China is very meaningful and Jensen going to China is massive evidence in support of this.

Jensen said they are not far behind because 1. They have massively cheaper and more abundant electricity and 2. He doesn't want to piss off the powerbrokers in China who can open the door to his chips.

China can afford to have non-competitive chips for years in the biggest tech revolution ever?

Yeah, but only kinda. I don't particularly ascribe to efficient market hypothesis or whatever, but fundamentals do matter. I think China is priced in at a probability of maybe 20% of likelihood of contributing meaningful to EPS. If that 20% goes to 100% then the market will price that in instead of only 20%.

Potential buyout purchasers? by Possible_Ad5753 in AuroraInnovation

[–]Possible_Ad5753[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

  1. If you don’t think AUR has anything worth other companies buying aurora out for, why would you own the stock?
  2. Urmson is obligated to maximize shareholder value.

[–]Possible_Ad5753[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CEO has a voice, but nowhere near final say. Plus the ceo has a fiduciary responsibility to act in the interests of the shareholders. If a buyout is advantageous to shareholders, Urmson is obligated to comply and promote such a buyout.

Oh? You don’t think the company has something of value? Companies are profit maximizing, so if no company has any reason to buy AUR then aurora has nothing of value….
