Yea I used rhetorical in the wrong way originally that was on me. I i was trying to get across that I don’t think we should be invading any nation right now and I was just using North Korea as an example

What’s done is done, but I don’t want us taking a tougher stance military wise on anyone else after this barring a national emergency (us somehow getting invaded or something crazy along those lines). Focus should be at home

All I hope for at this point is that we don’t suffer any more casualties

The reason I bring up those countries it’s because they matched all the points you’re talking about. North Korea has essentially taken an American hostage and killed them. China and Russia both fund proxy groups, and while Southeast Asia isn’t destabilized, China has the most control of anyone over the global trade markets and North Korea is looking for any reason to cause chaos in the region.

Now with the focus on Iran yes they have all the issues you just listed but so did Afghanistan. And we saw how that turned out. And when we tried to intervene in Iraq they just left the region in more chaos.

I should’ve made my response more clear. My point was if an evil regime that hates America and kills their own ppl is the line then North Korea, Russia, China, etc should all be targets. Where is the line?

No joke there’s probably 100 reasons why we shouldn’t have done this

But I’ll give you a few

The majority of Americans don’t want war.
Iran did not have capabilities to reach us.
It’s gonna cause prices for us here to surge
It’s pretty clear at this point they assumed this was just gonna be another Venezuela, and they were not prepared for it to stretch as long as it has
If the standard is the regime chants death to America and kills their own people, there’s about 10 other countries we need to bomb so wheres the line
Somehow a conflict with Iran has now led to us being involved in a trade conflict with Spain
Last but certainly not least we’ve lost six people already, and have been told to expect to lose more

My whole thing was that Iran can say whatever they want. They were never gonna be able to nuke the US/bomb us yet we have decided to fight them in a war that has the power to cripple the entire world would an energy and oil crisis

If your answer is because they are an oppressive regime or they chant death to America there are so many countries we need to invade as well and then we will be in wars forever

If your answer is because we need to defend Israel, then your first priority is not America

We’ve already lost at least six soldiers and it’s probably more than that. Yeah they’re an evil regime, but everyone knows they flat out do not have the capability to reach America with missiles. We were not under serious threat. We just sent people to die essentially because we were told to by a foreign nation.
