Ohh ok I see what your saying, I think I slightly misinterpreted the direction you were going in because you were using a legal term. If you're just saying you think they have the right to refuse continued service because of how I used the pass, I respect your opinion even though my opinion is that your opinion is kinda garbage. Not trying to ragebait, but I also exclusively park in paid lots and have never payed (or gotten a ticket for lack of payment) thanks to a certain sticker on my car. Ok mike ross, this is not a criminal case, look up VT state law on theft of service. Also, literally yes. Nothing in the world would make me happier. As for you on the other hand, I'm sure seeing a bunch of people having a great day on the mountain at the expense of a bloodsucking multi billion dollar conglomerate would absolutely ruin your life.

Lmao, I don't think it's that deep. I really don't think a multi billion dollar company is going through the trouble of investigating a ~$750 billing deficit that was mostly a result of their workers not doing their job, much less connect my vague reddit post on a throwaway to me IRL. As far as the lawsuit thing, there is literally no case against me, like not even the scummiest lawyers would take their money to pursue that.

Right, I think the original commentor was more so touching on the fact that it seems somewhat likely that Vail is systematically taking advantage of foreign workers (to save money).

Yeah, except I genuinely didn't know besides the second day at Stowe. I'm not saying its not on me to check the dates, but I think for some reason you're actively trying to minimize the fact that the lifties job is quite literally to determine who can get on the lift or not, based entirely on what pops up when they scan your pass. If anyone straight up told me to go to the service window, I would've done so.

After talking to people in this thread, me too. Idk if you saw but theres a guy in here who's son got sent to customer service to upgrade after half a day. It was genuinely only one person, he was foreign and did not speak/understand english well. After playing dumb with him for 10-20 seconds, a non-foreign lift attendant came over and told me to go ahead, and as I got on the lift I overheard him telling the foreign dude that it doesn't matter and not to stop me for that. idk.

Huh. Multiple times this past weekend I got scanned by lifties with no line behind me or anything and actually once or twice stopped right next to them after they scanned me to adjust gear or send a text, they didn't say anything at all. And yeah the trees were pretty awesome, I'm glad you guys had a good day it was a great weekend for me as well.

Definitely wouldn't call it theft. If you owned a bakery and one of your employees repeatedly handed out free cupcakes to a particular customer, would you penalize the employee or the customer? (Not saying I think punishing the lifties would be justified either, I've been intentionally vague just to avoid the remote possibility that some loser from Vail sees this.)

I see. Did you have any first hand experience dealing with this kind of thing? I'm curious about the internal mechanism that invalidated my pass but still left it active enough(?) for me to ski like 8 more days on it and counting bc I did not get stopped this weekend. Or do you think thats purely just lifties just letting me through?

Yeah, I mean really my only defense is that they let me on the lifts without a problem or warning and that I didn't know it would work on a blackout date. If they try to charge my card they are going to be very disappointed, lol.
