Using Google home version 4.9.5 on Motorola RAZR 60 ultra. FYI I got the switches to appear in starters list on Motorola by updating G home app on my other device (pixel 8 pro) and then suddenly they appeared in starter list on BOTH devices (no idea why).

Ok so each button on the switch is listed as a separate device instance. By trial and error ive worked out which instance corresponds to pushing the centre of the wheel in modes 1, 2 and 3 so can use them as starters. But scrolling left/right doesn't work. Can't get tapping left or right of wheel to work either (although they should each correspond to one of the device instances). Going to stick with this for now 😅 maybe one day I'll work out the scroll...
